Psychic K-Mart
by cariad
It's just "OK". For a chain of metaphysical bookstores, Psychic Eye has books, it has a small selsection of herbs and tarot cards/oracles, candles (though some look as if you could get the same ones for much cheaper at Michaels or JoAnne's) and CD's. I have been able to find a few stones and things from time to time there when the need has arisen but I will only go there when I have to. I used to help manage a metaphysical bookstore in Montana and never once in my years there did we teach manipulative magick - however the manager of this Charleston store was teaching a fairly desperate woman about manipulative magick (ie: how to get her boyfriend back after she'd been dumped) fairly guaranteeing results of a spell when the woman had no idea what she was doing, what she was using and why. I did not return to this store for close to two years after when I needed to find a specific book that Borders and Barnes & Noble just didn't have. When I need stones I go to the mineral and stone store on Sahara and otherwise I go online for magickal needs. Will even go as far as the UK for tools if the quality and energy is better than what I have felt in this store. The readers charging an average of $60 for readings doesn't help the case, either. Yes, they deserve to make a living for the energy they put out, however, it seems a bit excessive! If you feel you need books and tools magickally, this store is OK for the occasional purchase but I'd not go there for regular business - the employees are also not exactly the most friendly or welcoming.
Still, for the odd sage wand for smudging, it's not so bad - and some of their stores do carry Glow Diva candles and they are the absolute best - nothing like all-natural candles that burn clean with no parafin to enhance your spellwork!
- Pros: Glow Diva Candles, some used books
- Cons: teaches manipulative magick, pricey readings, snarky customer service
A mainstay in the Las Vegas New Age community for more than ten years, and offer just about anything under the sun--or the moon and stars, for that matter.

In Short
Psychics, goddess encyclopedias, essential oils, unique candles and exotic home decor are all staples of inventory. Some locations feature classrooms where customers can learn about everything from astrology to Wiccanism. The selection of New Age, Metaphysical and Occult books is second to none, and they feature self-help books not typically found at big chain bookstores.
