Service does not reflect price

by skiloud

I can't believe that in a place where they charge a FORTUNE for their suites, that there were hairs on our pillow and our bathtub was not washed!!! What kind of people to they have working there that do not know how to clean rooms? So ridiculous and will never stay there again. We were too tired to complain to the front desk and removed the hairy pillow and washed the tub ourselves. Disgusting! Stay clear of this place. It looks gorgeous on the outside, but the rooms are dirty from the inside. This place needs a new cleaning service from the sounds of the other reviews.

  • Pros: Large Suite, Wonderful Restaurants, Romantic Gondola Ride
  • Cons: Suite Cleanliness

be careful what you sign at the front desk

by DonaldRLeDrew

I had reservations at Caesars but when I arrived they had no record of my reservation so I phoned the Venetian and they said they had a room available. I arrived at the Venetian and checked in for six nights.

I gave them my Visa and signed the signature pad on the desk as requested to cover any extra charges to the room, telephone, mini bar etc. I had been quoted $200 per night over the phone and when I checked in.

When I checked out I was charged $472 per night. When I complained they said I signed for it. They brought out a piece of paper with my signature on it. The signature was an electronic signature that they took off the signature pad and put it on the form that indicated that there was an upgrade charge of $272 per night. I told them that I didn't sign that form. I asked to speak to a manager. They said that the manager wasn't available. I asked to speak to the general manager but he wasn't available either.

I was checking out and I had to get to the airport. I was there with a large group from Vision Expo West.

I have tried to dispute this charge with Visa but without success yet. I will be contacting Vision Expo West to lay a complaint. I will also file a complaint with Nevada Consumer Affairs.

STAINED BEDDING & HAIRS ON SHEETS

by PrincessLien

We checked into our room to be greeted by hairs on our bedding. They then replaced them with STAINED sheets. It literally took 3 hours from the time of check in for them to finally change us to a clean suite. Our stay here was awful due to the poor service and obvious lack of hygiene. The Bellagio is by far a superior hotel. Make a smart investment and stay at the Bellagio instead. My stays at the Bellagio are nothing short of perfect but I wanted to try out the venetian based on all the positive reviews. Save your time, money, and sanity and book elsewhere. Besides, the suites at the Bellagio are far nicer!

  • Pros: CHECK OUT WAS QUICK
  • Cons: DIRTY SUITES AND MANAGEMENT WHO DOES NOT TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY

Great suites

by macster15

I love staying at the Venetian....however, try to book in the Venezia tower as opposed to the Venetian tower which is older and the wear and tear is beginning to show. Service is great and there are lots of choices for dining and shopping. Now that Palazzo's next door, there are even more things to do! Highly recommended.

  • Pros: Beautiful ambiance

I Felt like the rich

by SweetGA1

My company flies everyone out there for conventions. Boy was this hotel/resort nice or what? I was blown away by the room and the fact that the little things I need to bring but could not fit in my suite case the room accomodated. Items such as a bath robe, printer, fax and copier. I like the fact that it feels like a little city inside the hotel. That's how big it is. Don't be intimidated by the size of the hotel it practically holds everything in it you need like shops, resturants, casino, spa, work out facility, meeting facilitieeeeeess and more meeting facilitessss. I mean I stayed at nice hotels before but never nothing this nice. If you go to Las Vegas please enjoy live it up that's what it's here for so you can enjoy. Live like a king for a day or a queen that's what I say.

  • Pros: LUXURY, FUN
  • Cons: Confusing layout, may get lost

My favorite hotel in vegas

by aprilhill1

I love this hotel the rooms are great and the restaurants are awesome. I like to dine at Pinot it's not as crowded as Bouchon and I think just as good and not as busy.

I like to play poker and I usually get the poker rate which is a great deal. You need to ask about specifics because one time I had to pay $1000. a night because room rate didn't qualify because of rules.

  • Pros: Great hotel, Rooms are very nice
  • Cons: none except spending money.........

The Venetian Hotel and Casino

by katbird

My husband and I stayed at the Venetian for six days. We found our room very comfortable. The maid service was perfect. We stayed there during a major "fight match", however we checked in on a Tuesday and checked out on Monday and had few problems. However we noticed that Wednesday through Saturday, checking in for new people arriving had to stand in line for a long time. We ate at the buffet which was just so so, also ate at Emeril's steak restraurant called Delmonico's and found it expensive, and just so so.

We did eat at the Winn's Steak House the SW, and it was outstanding and worth the 5 star price.

Definitely see the Beatles "Love Circe de Solei" It was fabulous. "Spamalot was okay if you are big Monte Python Fans. It was a bit humorous the actors were fabulous but the writing could have been better. All in all our stay at the Venetian was wonderful. The Bakery in the canal shop area was great. Great coffee and wonderful pasteries .

Love the Venetian!

by baychick

The Venetian is a great Las Vegas hotel! It is on the Strip, so it is within walking distance of all the Vegas hotspots. The man-made canals, gondolas, "street" performers, and Italian-style buildings are kitchy but cute and definitely make for a memorable vacation. The Canal Street shops are awesome, with lots of high-end labels, unique products, and designers - you can find everything from Jimmy Choo shoes to Brookstone to Sephora here! There are also tons of "sidewalk" cafes, coffee shops, bakeries, and restaurants, including Tao, a delicious sushi upscale restaurant and nightclub. The 4th floor pool is beautiful - there are comfortable padded chaises, a pool with halfway-submerged lounge chairs for sunbathing in the water, and servers sometimes come out with complimentary fresh orange wedges or ice water. A Wolfgang Puck restaurant is poolside, so you can eat chinese chicken salad, fresh turkey sandwiches, or hot and gooey personal pizzas while lounging. Heaven!

  • Pros: beautiful, fun, shops, restaurants, pool
  • Cons: prices, tons of annoying tourists everywhere

Gondola rides through flowing canals turn Vegas into Venice at this all-suite romantic resort.

by Contributor

In Short
This 63-acre, northern Italian-inspired hotel features classic architecture, gondola rides in flowing canals and hand-painted fresco ceilings. Accordion players stroll through the Grand Canal shopping area, where kids and couples wait in line for gelato. The hotel features 4,049 all-suite rooms, which include sunken living rooms and marble floors in the bathrooms. Distinguished restaurants include Aquaknox, Bouchon and Lutece.

Wonderful romance

by museum_flavor

Even the cheapest rooms are suites larger than some apartments! The ambience is amazingly romantic with period furniture and all of the modern-day conveniences and amenities. The public areas are romantic, too, the Promenade around actual canals is lit at a constant twilight--just perfect for strolling arm-in-arm as you browse the upscale shops or for dining at one of the first-rate restaurants or riding in a gondola while being serenaded by your gondolier. Street performers right out of the Italian Renaissance complete the picture, from commedia del' arte clowns to musicians. The gaming tables, however, are not for the penny-pinchers and service was not quite up to the standard of a 5-star hotel.

  • Pros: rooms, ambience, shopping, dining
  • Cons: service can be lack-luster, expensive gaming tables
