one of the best meals I've ever had
by addies
We had the petite taster's menu for $65. With soft drinks, tax and tip, it came out to about $85-$90 per person.
The meal was fantastic. Started out with a light salad, great citrus after taste. Then moved on to a salmon jambalaya, which was pretty good. Flavor was average, but it the salmon was perfectly cooked (real moist, not flaky at all). and then the main course was fantastic. maybe the best dish I've ever had. perfect portions. pork tenderloin on mashed potatoes, with eggplant and a balsamic vinaigrette reduction. so tasty. everyone at the table agreed. the desert was just okay for me but everyone else loved it. it was a chocolate cake, kinda dry, but the best part of it was that it was too sweet.
- Pros: food is great
- Cons: pricey but worth it
where's the heat?
by dallas_foodie
based on emeril's nawlins roots and notable catch-phrase (bam!), we expected a lot more heat in the menu items. instead the menu was surprisingly ambitious and bland at the same time. the tai snapper special, for example, featured a cacophony of salmon roe, pickled mushrooms, beets and gnocchi. the fish itself was tasteless and undercooked, and the roe should have been left out of the dish altogether. the wine list was excessively huge (read: war and peace) and probably could have been pared down for this kind of menu.
- Pros: huge wine list (could be pro or con in this case)
- Cons: surprisingly bland and overly ambitious menu
Word of Caution
by diddycity
Last night marked the second time that a bartender and/or server has adjusted their own tip on my credit card slip. The food is mediocre at best, SEVERELY overpriced and the ambiance...well, there isn't one. The whole place feels hectic, and with SO many other options in Las Vegas, it is not worth your dollars. Salad was wilted, dressing was OVERPOWERED by garlic and house wine, which is no big deal as far as taste goes, is extrodinarily overpriced.
Again, check your bank statements and see what really gets charged here. In addition to pretentious bartenders who create their own tips on your card, my check has never been right- there is always an extra salad, or extra glass of wine on it. For the money they feel they deserve, the experience is underwhelming. Skip it.
- Cons: parking
OVERATED
by colellm
For the price, food definately did not live up to what I had hoped for. Server seemed extremely rushed and spent no more than 30 seconds at our table each time. The only thing was was extraordinary was the person who kept refilling our water every time we took a sip.
Appetizer (grilled shrimp) was ok. Entrees (pecan encrusted fish) was tasty but nothing special. Overall seemed like an upscale ruby tuesdays with a hefty price tag. Little presentation.
- Pros: Water Refilled Very quickly
- Cons: FOOD
Don't believe the hype
by Follybeach
Six of us (casual 30 somethings) went to dinner at Emeril's Friday 4/25/08. I am by no means a food snob and am not too picky, however I'm spoiled to be from Charleston SC (a great culinary town) and expect a good meal, particularly for the prices. Our waiter (we didn't catch his name) did not give us a wine menu and gave us menus, half of which listed the special sheet for the night before. To make it easy we ordered a glass of house cab sauv - later found out were $15 apiece. The waiter took our app order and we soon received some underwhelming cornbread and pretty decent apps (chowder and a couple others). The waiter took our order and strongly steered us clear of the fish special ("Do not get it") This was well and good and he strongly recommended the steak on a plank - the 2nd most expensive item on the menu at $40. We also got two fish plates, the lobster -$60, and shrimp over rice and some sides. Then the wait began. Now, I believe that good food should take time but AN HOUR WENT BY AND WE DID NOT SEE A THE WAITER AND NO MAIN COURES. It was nearly comical that we had zero attention from the waiter for the hour we waited. The meal came and there was a strong disappointment across the table. Again, we are an easy to please group and really didn't mind waiting as we're on vacation and you know, it's Vegas and we're in a great mood until... The steak were flavorless, overcooked and just not good at all. The lobster couldn't have been two pounds unless the stuffing was included. The shrimp over rice was bland. The jambalaya side was plain and flavorless. The mashed potato and mac and cheese were good but $9? salmon entree and other fish entree were good. It was very disappointing - there is way to much competition to bother visiting - this is just a cash in on a name (and I like Emeril's show). By the way, on the auto gratuity for the 6 top the tip on our over $600 tab(no dessert, hardly any drinks) was nearly $90. Buyer beware!
- Pros: Pretty cool space
- Cons: Food, Service and Prices
disappointing
by sopho
as a devoted foodnetwork fan, i was overflowing with anticipation to try emeril's restaurant. it was a huge disappointment- the food was salty, portions were small, and it was really pricey. the bread that came out at the beginning and the cornbread was cold and dry- emeril, you can do better than that! the selection was limited- huge downside. all in all, ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDED.
- Pros: atmosphere (good for people watching)
- Cons: food (too salty, seafood aftertaste was border spoiled, cold bread and cornbread, chocolate dessert was not decadent)
We were expecting far better...
by schuyler17
We brought a group of 9 locals who gathered to honor our friend who just turned 40 years old.
We ran into a few people who worked at the restaurant who knew us, so we felt we were in good hands. We were wrong.
Long story short, we won't return or point others in their direction.
The ambiance is missing (no Bam band, no Bam music, No heartbeat whatsoever - they must have forgotten to pay their DMX music bill), the food is average - at best (and quite expensive), the appearance of the staff is dishelved and uninterested, and the design of the room is dated. The first cup of coffee was luke warm, the second, piping hot.
On the plus side was the orchestrated service... all dishes were delivered to the table simultaneously and in the correct position & our settings were "marked" during courses properly. The wine list is extensive and the "Som" is knowledgable. The banana cream dessert was fantastic.
It was a bummer because E.L's show and overall "Bam" personna dictates that of energy and excitement and a good time... his restaurant is anything but. It's a bland room with a cast of unenthused staff - from top to bottom, who are simply going through the motions.
In a town where there is massive competition, I fear the local crowd will not return. I'm guessing he drives a great deal of business from the tourist crowd who see his show, etc.
Oh, and did I mention it was expensive? $150 a head (including tip) is lofty for an avergae time.
We were all bummed - both for us and E.L. - we thought it would have been more legit.
- Pros: Banana Cream Pie Dessert, Wine List
- Cons: Ambiance, Design, App's and Main Courses, Staff Appearance
just ok
by bokashi1
service was poor - very slow and inattentive. i got the shrimp bbq as appetizer and it was good nothing out of this world. i also got the kobe beef which was a little fatty but tasty. my girlfriend got the ribeye with mustard sauce which again was just ok.
overall just average.
One word... YUMMY!

I'm an Emeril's fan and was very excited about coming here for my birthday. I did a little research on line to find out what people were saying. I came across both good and bad reviews and was a little skeptical. I was worried I was expecting it to be too good and be let down. I couldn't have been more wrong. The food was delicious!! I can't even begin to explain all the delicious flavors I tasted that day. If I could come to this restaurant for the rest of my life, I would die happy... that is how great the food is here. If you're worried about the prices being too high or being disappointed... I recommend you go for lunch and try them out. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
- Pros: The food!
- Cons: Might be a little too pricy for those on a tight budget
