This trend-setting offshoot of the Santa Fe original gives locals another reason to visit the MGM Grand Hotel.

In Short
Chef Mark Miller and his crew consistently impress with their nouvelle-Southwestern-chili inspired creations. Aside from spicy steaks, popular choices include the Colorado grilled lamb chops served with mint lamb jus, and the walnut-crusted salmon with a crispy vegetable teepee, accompanied by a cherimoya/habanero and spicy marisco (seafood) broth.

Mixed feelings

by travelgal at Citysearch

We went as a group of 10, and service was terribly slow. This may have been b/c of the size of our group or b/c it was 9:00 at night, but when you're paying a lot of money for your meal, that's really no excuse. The slow, inattentive service was disappointing, but most of us really enjoyed our food. I made a meal out of a couple of appetizers (portobello tamale and shrimp) and loved it. Also, they give you a basket of bread with these fantastic little spicy chipolte muffins. A couple of people in our group were unhappy with their entrees b/c they don't like spicy food, but overall it was quite good. Was it worth the price? Probably not, but I'd feel differently had service been better.

  • Pros: good food, cozy atmosphere
  • Cons: , slow service
