Disappointed!

I am not big on buffets - everyone touching the same utensils and breathing on 'my food', but I had heard sooooo much about the Buffet at the Bellagio that I just had to try it. My mother and 2 aunts were visiting from New Jersey and the big thing there is Atlantic City (enough said). They're all carnivores and I'm pescetarian and we all love desserts, so we had all the food choices covered. I don't know what they had exactly - plates piled high with a sampling of everything in sight and they deemed the food - okay. They thought it was comparable to other $9.99 (!!!) buffets they have 'enjoyed' (just passing along what they said). I piled my plate with salmon (give it a 'B') and tons of crab legs (not king) they get a 'C' - way too salty. Don't know how I missed the sushi bar - oh, well. Thumbs up on the caesar dressing and two thumbs up on the desserts - cheesecake puffs and chocolate cake - yummy. I was expecting so much more. So, been there, done that. My only experience at a buffet that exceeded my expectations was at the Four Seasons Biltmore in Santa Barbara - fabulous (it should be for $50+). Next I will try the buffet at The Wynn (please don't disappoint me).
- Pros: The lobby is beautiful :), caesar salad and desserts
- Cons: Food not better than average

April 7, 2009 / Bellagio Dinner Buffet
We have been fans of the Bellagio Buffet since Steve Wynn's day. Unfortunately, since the property was sold off the buffet has been in steady decline. Well, now it has been driven over the cliff.
Food Quality: The pizza, which was originally developed by the California Pizza Kitchen, used to be excellent, high quality exotic ingredients and meticulous prep. Now, not only is the pizza stale and the fillings pedestrian, but the cold left overs are tossed on to the occasional fresh pizza.
The teriyaki flank steak is now overdone, tough, flavorless and stacked like cord wood at the station.
The entrees are not replaced on the steam tables but are replenished like the pizza. Many old favorites like the creamed spinach have disappeared. And, like typical cafeteria fare, there was left over bacon, hash-browns and scrambled eggs from the breakfast buffet.
The Alaskan King Crab legs, the only reason to prefer the dinner to the lunch buffet, have been supplemented by Ophilia crab, for the unsuspecting. And, when we were there some of the Crab Legs were still semi frozen and so liberally laced with salt that we could only conclude that the crab was left over and re-frozen. The boiled shrimp was not being replenished, diners were scraping the bottom of the serving bowls for the watery remains.
The cold cuts have been removed from the salad bar and the selection of salads have been drastically reduced. They did not even have bacon bits garnish. Previously, the bacon bits were freshly prepared, a small but significant indicator of quality.
The desserts are a joke, very little if anything remains. The creme brulle, profiteroles, and eclairs are gone. The sorbet maker was dispensing room temperature peach mix.
You get the idea. The traditional Bellagio Buffet is no more. Really, in terms of quality, it is not that much worse than other buffets in the neighborhood, but no longer something special and they have raised their prices.
We should not support mediocrity or that is all we will get. Fortunately, Steve Wynn still has a buffet.

- Pros: Food Average For The Competition
- Cons: Now Way Over Priced
Disappointing at the least

Decided to try this buffet because it was highly recommended by many. The line was extremely and took forever to get through. Definitely one of the pricey buffets, but with the reputation it had I could have cared less about how much it cost. Unfortunately, the buffet couldn't live up to my expectations. The cold seafood bar was horrible. Nothing seemed fresh. My boyfriend, who has a big appetite, wouldn't go back for seconds. Not worth the price. Never going back again. At least the service was good.
- Pros: Service
- Cons: Poor quality of food
This used to be the very best buffet in Vegas, well not anymore!

Yuck, yuck.
This used to be the very best buffet in Vegas, well not anymore! The fish are all flash frozen -- yuck! No taste! The deserts taste as if it's made of Crisco. Another yuck!
What a complete disappointment. Don't bother going here!
This is THE BEST buffet on the strip!

I can't imagine it getting much better than this. $27 seems high for a buffet, but considering you couldn't go to most of the sit down restaurants in these casinos for that much a meal, and with the high quality of the Bellagio Buffet, it's a no brainer to try this out! King AND Snow crab legs already split open for you! Bison sirloin, prime rib, and lobster ravioli. A dedicated station to freshly made sushi! A dedicated station for all kinds of salads! Wood fired pizzas! You name it, this place has it covered. This place is especially great if you're a "foodie" and love to try exotic things that you would normally be afraid to pay for to try. Wow....just wow.
- Pros: Gourmet foods from around the world, great price for the quality
- Cons: Dessert station a little lacking in quality

First time at the buffet in Ballagio. It looked good on the Food Channel so we decided to try it. In reality it was overpriced and not very good and the wait staff were surly and unattending, not one wait staff at either the carvery table or the sushi bar smile or offer any helpful hint with the sauces for various dishes, most of the food were luke warm or dried up. Our waiter never brought us empty place for our shells. We ended up piling it on the table just to get it out of our dinner plate. The King crab was easy to eat but it was overly salty, the Beef Wellington was dry and a lot of food trays were empty or not being replenished for a long period of time. We were there at 5:30pm, the height of the dinner hour. We'd expected the food trays to be more plentiful and fresh. There were 2 things that were done well...rack of lamb and creme brulee. For over $70 for 2 people not including tips with only 2 items that wre any good, I think it's a bit overpriced. We will not go back to their buffet again. It's not worth it.
- Pros: Plenty of parking, good desserts
- Cons: Food were overcooked, over heated and unhelpful staff
never again!

First 3 times I went, it was great...
Then the 4th time, they served me a piece of rotted meat, chicken. It had a weird smell to it. I thought it came that way, I ate it, and unfortunately, about 2 minutes later, it came up.
Several people got sick from it.
They refunded my money for 2, and put my husband and I up for an additional night for free.
Sadly they have taken away the greater dishes and meats, and raised thier prices, 5 years ago, the buffet was wonderful, but my impressiona has been tainted.
Better off at the Green Valley Ranch buffet, its terrific!
- Pros: its sorta nice
- Cons: I got sick
Unacceptable

I thought the price per person here at the Bellagio Buffet is totally overpriced. I really don't think this buffet had a lot of food to choose from. The only food I went back for seconds were mashed potatoes w/ gravy and salad. One would think this buffet was going to be the bomb or something since the line was so long, but I was totally disappointed. Our server was nice even though all he did was bring us our drinks. But please believe me that there really was no food to be all ecstatic about. I would not come back here. It's not worth the price.
- Pros: ambience, nice server
- Cons: price, no selection
