Now The Worst Hotel On The Strip
2 Star Rating: Below Average

I am very fond of the MGM/Mirage hotels. I’m a common Vegas vacationer with a hunger for entertainment, great food, and of course the gaming. I have stayed at most the hotels on the strip and old town; I have to say that the MGM is the worst in almost every way. This season I spent the first 3 nights at Mandalay Bay, which was a treat as usual, but ended my last 5 at MGM. I needed in my room while my girl was away with the key. I called the front desk; she said she would send someone up. I was treated very rudely. I followed up after I waited half an hour and then just went to the front desk. I was then told I wasn’t checked into the room. (When I had been added to the room when my girl check in). I had to wait for my girlfriend to come to the front desk to then check me in again. I played a lot of Blackjack between MGM and Luxor. I dropped about 3K evenly over two. Grant it, it’s not a big Vegas sum, but good gamer’s amount. It was like pulling teeth to get them to take my players card. I know because I wouldn’t start really betting until they got it. By the end of the trip we went to check out. We had an offer w/ our players cards that gave us the third night free & $25 food. After checking our players cards they wouldn't honor the third night free and said we didn’t qualify for the $25 food credit. WHAT A REDICULASLY SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY TO HASTLE US ABOUT. They charged the wrong card after we specifically had them run a different card then the one we booked the reservation with. Our friends that met us at MGM, and who also stayed were double billed. We went back later and DID get it resolved. The rooms were not well dont by housekeeping. The bartenders at Rouge were unaccommodating. My 5 star lady was very unhappy with her stay. Im usually happy wherever I am but I left the MGM feeling like a small-time unwanted guest. The Good: The sandwich at had at "witchcraft" was very good. The gentlemen I reached at the concierge to order flowers was a delight.

Pros: Lion Habitat, Good Casual Restaurants, 11am & 6pm Poker Tournys

Cons: Poor Housekeeping, Snooty Gaming, Unaccommodating, 1980 MGM Fire took 80 people
