This place was absolutly horrible! Ruined my entire trip to Vegas. It smelled so bad in there like no one cleans anything and the people are so rude and slow! The owners daughter at the front treats people in the worst way and even bragged about how she rips people off and they dont notice! I almost got sick after I saw insects inside the place!! I would never go back here ever again and no one else should either!
Pros: leaving and never coming back!
Cons: having to go there the first time

My husband and I were on our first trip alone, without our kids in three years. After reading several reviews on different sites I was really looking forward to eating at the Lotus of Siam. Ordered the stuffed chicken wings...I believe they were about $8-$9 for two wings that were overly breaded, not very tasty and the meat inside was quite tough. Had the crispy rice/sour sausage dish (also $8 I believe) which was highly recommended and was very disappointed. A small plate (looked like about a bowl of rice) came out with a few pieces of cabbage that was cut up. I thought it might be similar to something like the Chinese lettuce wraps when I looked at it, but it was quite spicy for a three and very, very salty. The last dish we had was the drunken sea bass on noodles. The noodles were overcooked, but the fish was good. The meal came to $40 which was a RIPOFF!! The only good things out of this meal was the fish and the beer my husband had. Not sure why the last reviewer was so impressed. No ambience and definitely not the best Thai in North America!! We came back and went to Sawasdee in Vancouver for a great Thai meal.

i love the spicy beef salad, the red curries, the huge prawns, the steamed fish and the desserts. service is fine, price and value are both outstanding. i wonder if some of the mixed reviews stem from the several prior owners/chefs that did business in the same location. i love it!!
Pros: food, price, portion size
Cons: location

I've been to Lotus of Siam several times and generally its quite good. Not quite as spectacular as the reviews would make it out to be but definitely good food. However, I haven't found it to be consistent as there have been a few times when the food was downright horrible. Perhaps those are the nights when the head chef is on leave? The wine list is impressive but there have been times when I've requested a bottle and they have told me that they have sold out which leads me to believe that a lot of the bottles they list don't exist on the premises. The service is courteous but nothing to write home about either. All in all, I keep coming back for the good food, which is about 80% of the time while 20% of the time it has been sub-par.
Pros: great food
Cons: service is perfunctory but nothing to write home about, lacks ambience

This is the first restaurant I am taking the time to write a review for. I usually dont either because I am too lazy or the food does not merit any more of my time. However, LoS leaves me with no option but to write this. I am somewhat of a foodie (usually on a budget) and extremely hard to please and very very opinionated when it comes to food (ask my wife!) but this is hands down the best Thai food (best food actually) in the US. We had been there for our anniversary last weekend and my wife and I were blown away by the quality of food and the service. Both were A+ and after our first visit, we canceled all our other reservations in the fancier LV restaurants and readjusted our schedule to make sure we got our meals there. While you wait for a table (yes - reservations would be a good idea), you can see reviews and awards right from 1998 - 2007 proclaiming it to be the best Thai food in the country. Two things stick out immediately - 1- They have been consistently awesome for over 9 years now and 2- The reviews come from places like NYT, LAT and other respected publications We had the Tom Yum Noodle (its in the entree section), the Shrimp Pad Ped, Cat Fish Thai Basil, Shrimp red curry and Sea Bass Panang curry (that was over 2 meals :) and all of it was awesome. If I had to pick 1 with a gun to my head, it would be the Tom Yum Noodle. Apparently the owner (Saipin Chutima) supervises the kitchen EVERY DAY and this dedication and love to her art reflects in the final product. That also is the reason they dont open restaurants in another city as she wants to be there when the food is being prepared. We are not big gamblers but this restaurant would be the single biggest reason we go back to LV. Yes - I have had Thai food in NY, SFO, Orlando, Chicago, DC etc..but this is the BEST THAI FOOD in the US. Enjoy and yes - do leave some place for dessert!
Pros: Pretty much everything except the Ambience which is above average
Cons: Not a romantic place to eat

The food here is really good. One of the most authentic thai food. Service was real nice. Try the special menu.

I used to live in Las Vegas for a year. I was their frequent customer. They have great authentic Thai food. Their papaya salad is the best in the city. If you want to taste the real curry dishes or other spicy dishes, I would recommend to try this place out.
Pros: Food, Parking, Price
Cons: Ambience
