Old school ice cream shop
by alyssa1307
this is an awesome place that isn't as well known as it used to be but still makes some of the best "diner" food in Vegas. As much as it looks a little dilapidated on the outside, the food is as good as ever. I definitely recommend it for locals and visitors alike.
- Pros: the food and the ice cream
- Cons: its a little bit older
Wonderful old fashioned ice cream...Must try this place!!!

The ice cream and service here were amazing. My family ordered this super sundae with three types of ice cream. We were given four spoons and just dug in. The ice cream is made right in the shop. I don't understand the negative reviews. The ice cream was very flavorful and creamy. I believe the best. I had the rocky road, lemon (wow), and the mint chocolate chip. This is a must try. We were the only ones there, Monday at 4:30 ~ I hated to see that people are really missing out.
Still the best

Leatherby's is still the best ice cream shop in Vegas. The location isn't great, they are becoming forgotten due to the lack of advertisement and the shop needs to be updated, but my family has been going to Leatherby's for the last 13 years, we have NEVER gotten sick, and there is no one else in town that has the variety of ice cream dishes and has that old fashioned ice cream shop feel to it. No where else in town can we get the Valerie's Black and White with marshmallow cream, vanilla/chocolate ice cream and the hot fudge pouring down the sides of the glass....mmm. I think it's time to make another trip down there.
- Pros: Quality ice cream, originality
- Cons: location, location, location. Lack of attention to the asthetics of the shop.
We all got quite ill
by jesse1369
Leatherby's ice cream and food made everyone without exception in my party of 6 ill. We all had something different, from a simple sandwich to ice cream and each of us within 4 hours became ill and were unable to retain our meal at Leatherby's. Needless to say, we have not been back. The ice cream was sub par (not creamy and more of an "ice milk" than an ice cream), the service was ok (you could tell they were all over worked and very tired) but the cleanliness of the staff and the restaurant are questionable at best.
- Pros: plenty of seating, easy to read menu, handicapable access
- Cons: bad food, bad ice cream, not clean
dont bother

for a super premium ice cream it is below average in quality, a bit icey not very smooth and had a unpleasant flavor, both my wife and i had a few bites and toss them in the trash.
- Pros: none
- Cons: bad flavor, not creamy
Best old fashioned ice cream!!

I first had Leatherby's in Sacramento and it was fantastic!!!!
Couldn't believe it was here in Vegas. It's worth the drive to the East Side. Wouldn't go out of my way for any OTHER ice cream parlor.
Nothing compares!!!!!!!!
As good as it gets

I first experienced this fabulous ice cream in CA, where the Leatherby family owned and operated its first creamery. Nothing has changed! It's the real deal... they serve no ice cream that's more than 72 hours old. Try 'em all. What I love best are the sauces, hot fudge and caramel. To die for! Have the signature crab sandwich (not too filling), then save room for dessert. The portions are way oversized, part of the joint's charm. Can't visit this place too often, though, else you'll really put on the pounds. Kudos to ColdStone's, but Leatherby's rules.
- Pros: always fresh, great sauces, rich rich rich
- Cons: food is just OK, way too many fries, service so-so
