Best Spot Downtown
by msdvl00
If you don't like the Strip, Binions is the best place to go, from fairly cheap gambling to good drink specials. This is the only place I go downtown...
Surrounded by entertainment complexes and resorts, this downtown Vegas classic is still devoted to gambling.

In Short
With no theme or any glamour to date it, the hotel remains popular, especially for die-hard gamblers, namely poker players. The enormous downstairs gaming area is divided into several sections. Elegant-but-simple light fixtures and old-fashioned wallpaper adorn the older areas. The hotel's steakhouse has a good view of the valley. There's also a bingo parlor, a Chinese restaurant, gift shops and a buffet located on the second level.
Simply the best

When you're through with the glitz and glamor and want to get down to gambling, the Vegas way it's time to go to Binions. Great comps, awesome gaming. Old tower rooms in need of upgrading (at least the ones the give out comp'd) but new tower rooms are very nice. Some changes now that Harrahs took over but still recommend it. Steakhouse still has fantastic food and an unbelievable view!!!
- Pros: Great comps, Great food, Nicest staff
Worth a try!

One of Las Vegas's older Hotels...and ONE OF THE FEW THAT STILL REMEMBERSHOW TO TREAT ITS GUESTS. Jack Binion is the quintessential host and his character trickles down to every one of his employees. Its no wonder that the high-rollers of yester-year and their families still frequent this solid establishment. You will always feel welcome here and part of the family and you can still get decent food served by a caring staff. LAS VEGAS THE WAY IT WAS ALWAYS MEANT TO BE!
- Pros: Caring Staff, always feel welcome, Last of a dying breed
- Cons: no electric volcano
Authentic Las Vegas

After walking the strip, this place seems like coming home. Not glitzy or flashy, but the waitresses and most of the staff have been there for years and remember even small time gamblers like me. The service is fantastic. We have stayed at several hotels in Las Vegas, but come back to Binion's over and over again. Another plus is that there are other casinos near by. Just walk out of one into the other. The strip is a great place to visit, but I want to stay downtown!
- Pros: Service, Gaming, Food
- Cons: rooms need updating
home away from home

the friendly courteous service makes up for what it lacks as a tourist attraction. It reminds me of the old west with class. Its worth seeing the gun collection displayed and the Hall of Fame of legendary players.
- Pros: friendly, good food, good gamble
- Cons: no entertainment, upkeep needed
