We often go to Vivas for dinner. The service there is so excellent - you never have to ask for a refill of chips, salsa, or drinks! Your food is brought out quickly, and the temperature is always just right. Also, you can't beat the price for the food you get!

Best Mexican in Las Vegas. Bar none.

Not the greatest location and looks a little seedy from the outside, but once you get inside you are in a different world. If any Mexican food can be said to be haute cuisine, this is it. If Lorenzo the manager is there make sure to ask him for his recommendations. The usual stuff (burritos, tacos, etc.) are fine, but stick with the specialties here. The chile relleno de camaron is great. The chile colorado is great. The camarones borrachos are great. The queso fundido con chorizo is great. You get the idea. They have a salmon in cognac sauce that is not on the menu, but ask for it. It's....well you know how it is. Best margarita in town, too. If I could give it six stars I would.

• Pros: Food, service uniformly outstanding.
• Cons: Location a little inconvenient, especially for tourists, but truly worth the trip.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this restaurant! The food, the staff, the service is by far some of the best in North Las Vegas. My husband and I eat out every meal and we have tried almost every hole in the wall to high end mexican restaurant in the Greater Las Vegas and we come back to Viva Zapatas at least twice a week sometimes more. Carnitas that are unlike any other you will eat, Delicious! Pork ribs are fall off the bone lip smackin good! If you are a Mole fan theirs is some of the best around! Save room for the Tres Leches or the Flan, it's a toss up as to which one is the best. Coming from Texas where Mexican is done right, Viva Zapatas definitely knows how to make awesome Mexican cuisine in Nevada.

• Cons: You eat too much! It could be a good thing!

Stolen credit card number

My Credit Card number was stolen in N Las Vegas at a Mexican Restaurant called Viva Zapatas on E. Craig road.

The credit card number has been used for "Itspaymybill" which is Western Union National Money Transfer, and now City of N Las Vegas Utility Company.

The credit card has been shut down. I will be receiving a new card on Wednesday.

The waiter had to take the card and write the number down along with the security number on the back.

Pretty easy for identity theft now days!

• Cons: Credit card theft by server is not good. required new card.

Don't Judge the Book

Don't go by the outside look.....Industrial area, non-descript building........Inside is beautiful and the food was second only to Lindo Michuican(?)...Even the live guitar player was subtle with a soothing, romantic style, and we were 10 feet away!!

Viva Zapata does not deserve only a 7. Their food is excellent! The atmosphere is great! Just what you would expect a little mexican restaurant to be!! It is my favorite!! I give it a 9.9. It gets packed but if you wait maybe 15 minutes you will get seated!
