Over Rated, Over Priced, Over Done

My son and I went for lunch there and both of us had appetizers and the Bean Town Bake. In all fairness, my appetizer, Calamari, was good. Generous portions and cooked just right. But .......... the Bean Town Bake was a horrible disappointment. The lobsters well small and overcooked to the consistency of rubber. The clams were also rubbery and tasteless. The shrimp were unpealed and not devained and way overcooked as well. The best part of the entree was the sausage. The tab with tip was well over $100 and not worth half of that price.

On a previous visit, I had the Fisherman's Platter and it was good.

There are some good selections at Joe's Crab Shack but I don't think the Steampots are good values at all.

• Pros: You don't have to go back.
• Cons: I did not heed the reviews I read.

A colorful seafood restaurant for kids of all ages--especially the younger ones.

Admittedly kitschy, unavoidably noisy, this Red Lobster for rug rats is like an oversized seaside shanty awash in oceanic memorabilia--fishing nets, souvenir trinkets, plastic flotsam and jetsam. Staffed with a lively crew of G-rated table-dancing servers, the family-friendly chain anchors its menu in all things crab: Crab balls, crab cakes, crab dip, crab gumbo. Finicky children opt for corndogs or hamburgers; shellfish-phobic adults dine on rib eye steak or mesquite-grilled chicken.

bad example of a good place

I used to love this place and brought my boyfriend there for the first time near christmas..Not crowded at all bad service 10 for a kids crab that had exactly 1Tbs of meat in it my son was straving none of the fun it used to have the staff was lazy when doing the fun stuff and loudly talking about private issues around our table w/small childern..would not go back
