Best "gourmet room" in vegas

Please trust me when I say this is the best kept secret in Vegas. I go to Vegas 2-3 times a year, and am always eating at the highest rated restaurants on the strip, but I always make the trip to Michaels. From decor, to food, to service, it feels like you've stepped back to the good old days of Vegas, when the gourmet rooms made you feel like royalty. The wine list is small, but wonderful, and the prices are a great value. The wait staff is very attentive, but not overbearing in my opinion. The menu is on the heavy side (no light "fusion" cuisine here), but always well done.

This is a great dining experience, and if you make the trip out, you won't be disappointed.

Poor Food and intrusive service

They started us off with a vegetable platter from 1968. Not an ounce of creative flair what so ever. I would say old school, but it was more like dead school. My wife inquired about the creamed mushrooms (app). The captain told us they were chantrelles. When they arrived to the table we had a platter of button and cremini mushrooms. not one chantrelle present. The portions were good size, menu was over priced. Everything was covered in cream and butter and I love fat too. It's better to let the product speak for itself if it's fresh? We could not even enjoy the conversation without a waiter standing over our table. I almost asked him if he would like to join us. We would never go again!

Inside the dimly lit restaurant with red Victorian-style interior, guests are treated to a selection of seafood and meat entrees in an upscale atmosphere. Vegas visitors and locals are offered two nightly seatings where they can start their meals with cold or hot appetizers including smoked Scottish salmon, Australian lobster cocktails, baked escargot or sauteed fresh mushrooms a la creme.
