Good Service Better Rate
by msmy
The guys got to my home on time and packed everything very well, they included tape and plastic wrapping for free which was cool, I was told by my mom (who's moved a ton of times) To go buy that stuff, and I didnt but they took care of that free for me. I moved from chicago to Las Vegas and along the way the truck got a flat tire. Like most people I thought oh well an hour or two delay no issue, but semi's to my surprise do take a day or two to get serviced depending on the area. Regaurdless they were great and still got my items to me about 2 days after I originally hoped for. After reading these reviews I think people are under some assumption that they are the only stuff on the truck- that is just not how moving works. That truck is going to a ton of places accomodating a ton of people, and althoughthey offered for me to pay for a guaranteed date, I really didn't want to and come to fiond out i really didnt need to either. I will recommend them from here on out if you want to ask me more info please feel free to emial me. Thank you new planet!
- Pros: Way less than the big boys
- Cons: Truck broke down
They did great

Keep Looking!
by StayAway123
I'm not going to get in to too much detail about what happened to me, but I will tell you to keep looking! If you are willing to take a chance on this company I feel for you and you're better off playing Russian roulette.
They will lie through their teeth and low ball you so you agree for the move. After your personal belongings are picked up it all goes down hill and the same nice person that you were low balled by doesn't have time to talk to you or call you back when the price almost doubles value after pick up and weighing.
The whole process was a circus. They never knew when my belongings would arrive and chose to play games on the phone with me when I would call and say that they didn't tell me certain promises and that they didn't know who I was.
I had two pieces that I had issues with. One completely lost. The other of high value broken. Good thing I was insured with them. Their insurance policy(if their liable) will give you 60 cents for every pound. YES, 60 cents per lb. It gets better when after multiple phone calls and headaches later they somehow found themselves not liable for either one of my items and for lack of better words pretty much told me to screw off.
I proceeded to have a phone conversation with the president of the company, who no surprise was the most unprofessional one of the pack and proceeded to tell me that I was wrong for being upset and that they weren't responsible for my items. I told him that I was going to fill reports on them, and his response was "Oh, you here me shaking!". He proceeded to tell me to go back to where I was from and to not call them again screaming and hanging up on me! I have never given a bad review or many good reviews on companies on a public site in my life but I will do so if it will have an effect on someone's decision to protect themselves! It would be a crime for my story to go untold to another individual looking to move their belongings.
I'll close with this as I said in the beginning, keep looking and go with a well renowned company! It's well worth every penny and giving them the business. These are your personal belongings and are worth much more than 60 cents a pound!!! God knows that you won't even get that!
- Pros: It could have been worse!!
- Cons: Horrible customer service, proffessionalism and credibility.
good job
by pretty nice guys

I can't believe it
by movedagain
I came on here to write a review, and noticed this other one... wow i cannot believe that this is the same company i used. maybe it is another company slandering them? anyway i will continue my review :-)
i had a visual estimate done by new planet moving and i had about 12,000lbs they gave me a great rate and it included packing as well. I called the other companies in town and i didnt find anyone who could do all the packing and loading in one single day. ( i have a 4 bedroom well i had) soi went with them they delivered everything to LA the next day with the same guys in order to reassemble everything., i didnt incurr any extra fees, so i have to say i am surprised at the other persons comments. anyways i will recommend them to everyone and will do all future business moves with them as well.
thank you guys take care
- Pros: great service guaranteed rate next day delivery
- Cons: none
Please do not use this company

This moving company started out really well, the woman that estimated our move was helpful and the price was fairly good compared to others. The movers who came for our stuff did a good job and were pretty nice. When we arrived at our destination, however, things changed. They wanted to deliver our stuff earlier than we could receive it (we had given them a date for the earliest we could get our stuff at their request) and then when I called two days later to let them know we were ready, they said they didn't know when they could get us our stuff and I should have let it come earlier. That was fine, we could wait a few days. This was a Friday and he said likely Monday to Wednesday. Called and left numerous messages and emailed about when the delivery would be and got no answers. Finally I called them and Eli told us it would be Friday and the driver would call Thursday (they said this to my husband). I called on Thursday and they said the driver had left that morning, then another employee told me the driver was sick and hadn't been able to leave, Joe then told me that the driver had to go to the dentist and then would leave? They also insisted that they did not tell my husband Friday for the delivery date ("Well I don't know what your husband's been saying"). And then Eli said and I quote, after we had been unable to move into our house for two weeks because we had nothing to put in it, "You've waited this long, you can wait 5 more days" During this time, anytime I called, they asked who it was and avoided me. Both of us were put on hold, told the dispatcher wasn't there, put on hold some more, hung up on 'by accident', and generally run around before they would let me talk to someone.
Finally, a week later, our things arrived. The guys they hired from craigslist were cool but the driver was rude. They had smashed the legs off of one of our desks and put tape on our dressers that stripped off the finish and the driver's response to our pointing it out was "Oh you can fix that". This was an awful experience and they can threaten me if they want but people need to know before they make a mistake. I wish I had.
Dont write a bad review or theyll threaten to take you to co

Had a move scheduled with new planet. had an estimate done that was binding and then the movers said it wasnt accurate and my total price went up $732 dollars on my contract. they were nice enuf to discount me $200 dollars so in reality my bill was only $500 more then my binding contract. so i get to my destination and get settled for a week and call new planet to say whenever you have a truck im ready for my stuff. Started calling on a monday morning called two times a day and left messages with receptionist and on eli(dispatcher) voicemail. Friday afternoon finally recieve a call from eli i told him i was ready for my stuff and his response was you should have called earlier in the week cuz he had a truck that left friday morning. i informed him i had left numerous vms and messages and his response was oh yes i had been busy all week no time to return a call. he told me he was not sure when a new truck would be heading my way and i said whenever they had one would be fine. i told him my only concern was that with the labor day weekend coming up and that my bank acct was still in vegas that could i get a heads up when my stuff was inroute so i could get the certified funds required to pay my remaining bill. eli said no problem. Labor day weekend saturday at 2pm recieve call from driver saying he would be here sunday nite or monday morning. I informed him i had no way to get the certified funds could he take a card. after speaking too his boss which took till 9pm that evening that i would have to pay 600 in cash and they could run rest on the card. so when i spoke to eli monday he wanted to know y i had to use card(he had to come in to run it) i said wasnt called till sat after banks were closed. eli says it was the drivers responsibility to call. this seemed to anger the driver who then called eli and wanted to know y i wasnt called. So after all this i need the weight tags for the arbitrator. again call twice a day for a week and no response. finally speak with joe and he is livid that i posted a negative review and that him and the owner were going to get citysearch to pull my previous review and take me to court for slander or liable i dont know which and neither did he. he said and i quote rite now u are tickling the owner and i wont like it when i am tickled back. i know it was u whio wrote the review. i said of course you do i used my email address. i asked if i could get my weight slips and he encouraged me to delete my review and i could have them. i said no n if he could just have a secretary email them too me. he said ok and again suggested i remove my post or would hear from there lawyers in a couple days. it is my reccomendation that you steer clear from moving with this company
rude, incompetent, worse moving experience ever
by CSMobileUser
we were planning a move and had several estimates from different companies. we decided to go with new planet due to options of $250 packing and free storage. we signed a binding agreement for $2000. when the movers arrived not only was the foreman extremly rude and abbrasive. from the minute he walked in he already told us are binding contract was wrong. the estimator had forgotten to include several items on the drivers inventory but which were included on our contract. we tried to contact the estimator (yosef) but he told us he needed to speak with the owner. we had tried for four days to contact the owner of company. we had no success. the receptionist said he was on other line and then when i asked to hold for him he was suddenly no longer there. on day four with no return phone call from them. the receptionist told us the manager could speak with us. when asked if he was the owner the first response was no but then after being put on hold he was now promoted to co-owner. joe owner/manager was very defensive and rude. he said the charge was just based on total weight of load. the receptionist/ driver/ estimator told us our prive was based on cubes. we asked for explanation/ documentation of extra charges but could not be provided. we have yet to see an offical dot weighing or cube report. the only thing we know for sure is that are 250 agreement fir packing was raised to 500 dollars. the other explanitiow was that we gained 200 cubes and a 1000 lbs with addition of an autumun, empty dresser, day bed and two bed frames. the weird part is is that we dont own a day bed and only have one bed frame. joe was combative and at one point emplied it was our fault for not checking the drivers inventory and going off the binding contract we had signed. we have no choice to pay the extra charge to recieve our stuff. our reccomendation is if you use this company place the two arbitrators numbers on speed dial because you will be needing them after they scam you.
Needed to Move in a hurry
by had2move
I recently lost my house to foreclosure. Unfortunately my only option was to move back home to Michigan. I didn't have much to move since I had been selling whatever I could to cover the bills. My job didnt work out to well either. So I started calling around to different moving companies. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Pounds? All of the moving companies wanted to quote me based on weight. I was astonished. Who the heck knows how much all of their stuff weighs? Well I was trying to figure that out with the different moving companies and I still wasn't sure. So I scheduled a visual estimate. The representative from New Planet came over and calculated my weight for me then took the time to sit down with me and explain peice by peice where the weight is coming from. So we broke down the figures together on what it would cost to do the move myself and it was actually cheaper to use a moving company!!!!! I was still doubtful of this moving company so I welcomed a few more companies over to compare prices. New Planet's was not the lowest quote. And I was sceptical and desperate to save a buck. But I did my research and called the B B B. They actually recommened New Planet Moving to me. However after comparing services I found that New Planet provided much more in their quote than any other company. I am glad I realized that in the begining or I would have paid an arm and a leg just to protect the little furniture I had left. I receive a price that was not to exceed. I heard horrer stories from all the other companies that everyone else will raise their price. Well that didnt happen. It actually ended up costing less in the long run when they weighed my stuff and realized it weighed 250 lbs less than the original estimate. whoo hoo. what a deal
- Pros: the price didnt change
They were great

I like most people went through the phonebook looking for a moving company. I really wasn't sure who to go with, and they all seemed to talk bad about each other. then when I asked the girl at New Planet Moving what she thought of a company I was comparing them to, she said simply-- oh no we don't do that here, you just go check the B b b and the DOT-- they don't talk bad about any other companies. So on top of that I found some coupons on thier site after I booked, and you know what, they still let me use those too! thank you for an awesome move, the delivery and start both went so well, and I got my stuff sooner than I thought I would too. thank you new planet.
- Pros: Low rate, Same Truck, Sweet Office Girls
- Cons: Didn't find them for my last move.
