plan for a very long wait and bad service

by linnda at Citysearch

After putting our name in for a table and waiting an hour before being seated, we sat at our table for another hour before one salad emerged from the kitchen (for a party of 6). This was without a doubt the worst service we have experienced in town. Our waiter was negligent. When we'd asked where the food was, his reply was "it's cooking". We finally got a manager over to the table and then she promptly ran away to see where our food was and disappeared for another 10 minutes before returning. Three minutes after her return the food arrived behind her (as if we'd had to beg for it). We were so mistreated at this point, we left the restaurant without a meal and without any compensation for our trouble. We will NEVER be back!!!

LOVELY!!! You will have a great experience!

These days with most of our fav places succumbing to the recession and cutting back on costs therefore losing their customers this one still serves delicious large portions of food...this is not a 'recession hit restaurant'...all of us are counting our pennies these days and when I get in a babysitter and head out for a rare dinner on the town I will be guaranteed a wonderful time..their happy hour prices are also incredible and the menu for it so long it takes a while to choose...so just order them all!! LOVE this place!!

Unappetizing food, high prices

by cheesecake23423 at Citysearch

We got a burger, a sandwich, and 2 different cheesecakes.

The burger was mediocre at best; I didn't finish it. The sandwich was average. The cheesecakes were good, but not great. The atmosphere was too loud. The prices were high. We won't be going back.

  • Pros: large menu selection, good cheesecake
  • Cons: high prices, loud atmosphere, inconsistent food quality

Terrible Service. Arrogant waiters and managers.

by biznessman2 at Citysearch

Waiters with terrible attitude. If you complain to the manager he will side with the waiter saying you called the waiter an a**hole, which you obviously didn't, then of course, but gladly would do so now, even if "a**hole" is still a compliment to them. Cheap way of getting away with the worst treatment I ever had in Las Vegas. They rush you out, bringing food while you are half way eating your appetizers. And if you send it back they will bring it back COLD. Such a beautiful place wasted by mannerless, untrained, uneducated, rude and arrogant staff. It is like feeding jam and caviar to pigs. For those of you who like to be appreciated, go to Bertolini's or Olive Garden. They will appreciate your business and treat you like "customers".

  • Pros: Nice atmosphere and food
  • Cons: Terrible service and staff.

More than 30 varieties of the signature dessert make up only a part of this chain restaurant's gigantic international menu.

by Contributor at Citysearch

In Short
Oddball architecture--curving surfaces and colorful light fixtures--and thick-as-a-book menus distinguish this restaurant from other eateries. The encyclopedic menu spans the globe with enormous American interpretations of dishes like pad thai, shrimp tacos, miso salmon, pasta Milanese and a slate of appetizers, sandwiches, entrees and desserts too extensive to list. The namesake cheesecakes, ranging from original to peanut-butter-cup-fudge ripple, are over the top in both concept and decadence.

Good food. LOUSY Service. Bad attitudes.

by jy56 at Citysearch

Food is good, as it is at a number of Cheesecake Factory's that I've visited. Sometimes a little better than good and sometimes worse. Service is ALWAYS Lousy! The wait staff acts like we are imposing on them when we ask for anything. At first, I thought that perhaps my expectations were too high, but after talking to many others who have gone to the location in Summerlin and after reading some reviews, it's apparent that it's not just me. Sure, the portions are large and MOST of the menu items are good but, when my service is bad at best, my whole dining experience is ruined. Last night was the final straw. We gave my parents a gift card for their 55th Anniversary and they gave me the same assessment. Good food but Lousy service. I won't waste my money there again.

  • Pros: Large portions. Food is usually good.
  • Cons: Terrible service.

Corporate Cheesecake Factory could care less about your complaints.

by drdu at Citysearch

My wife and I have eaten at various Cheesecake Factory locations, Honolulu being the best. Since living in Las Vegas, we've experienced the worst service at the Summerlin location. Our last visit there finally broke the camel's back. I still have the receipt next to my computer showing that we ordered the crusted chicken romano and the chicken piccata with angel hair pasta. The pasta was so under cooked that my fork stuck straight up without falling! The server, Alferdo, said he'll bring another side dish of pasta back. But the service was so slow, I had already finished eating the chicken. I told the server we would like to speak to a manager who never came after waiting 10 minutes. The server made us pay the full bill anyway. I wrote to corporate twice to complain about our experience, and they have yet to answer with an apology. I have now made a point to express our feelings about this restaurant in Summerlin, to all our friends and relatives, to stay away from here and try the other restaurants in the area that have better service and food.

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Service, food, management

Terrible service

by natmacvarg at Citysearch

I have never came across a restaurant that seems incapable of filling an order correctly. I must be a glutton for punishment, as after two bad experiences with "curb-side pick up" orders at this restaurant, I decided to try my luck again tonight.

Last time I ordered curb side pick up, I had to wait an excruciating 30 mins longer than the 25 minutes I was told the food would be. I got home only to discover several items were missing from our order. I was flabbergasted to think I had waited for nealry an hour and half the food was missing. We called to complain and spoke to the manager on duty who, to his credit, was very nice and solved the problem by offering us a gift card.

So same thing happens again tonight. As I have just had a baby I asked my brother in law to go pick up the food for a small party we were having at our house. He arrived back, after having to wait an additional 25 minutes beyond the time given by the girl on the phone. I opened up the bags to see that once again 5(!!!!) items from our order was missing. So once again we call to complain. The manager on duty REFUSES to get on the phone and speak to my husband. He then suggests we come back to pick up the missing items. Unfortunately that is a 20 minute drive and just not possible when entertaining. The manager then offers to bring it to our home. We were vaguely satisfied with this, apart from the fact that while all this is going on all the other food is getting cold. He then changes his mind and offers to meet us half way!!! Are you kidding me??? We are forced to agree, so I can feed my guests. Overall very rude and incompetant.

This is all really a shame because the food is actually quite nice, but I seriously doubt I will order from here again and I won't be recommending anyone orders curb side pick up or take out from this restaurant.

  • Pros: nice food
  • Cons: can't get a simple order right

Turned away twice at Summerlin Cheesecake Factory!

by hurricane_hannah at Citysearch

This used to be our favorite place to eat in Summerlin. No more! Told by the rude host that it was ?too hot? for us to sit outside and have lunch on the patio! What a bunch of wimps! Hello, it?s summer in Vegas! On two separate occasions we were told this! The patio is closed because it is too hot! The second time was in the evening around 10:00pm! The smug manager said the patio was closed again, even though there was another couple clearly eating on the patio! Apparently they make enough money to turn down two $60.00 minimum checks! Never again will we step foot in the Summerlin Cheesecake Factory! Went next door to Gordon Biersch were you are treated with respect and the food was great too! We also were able to sit on the patio!

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: Patio closed because it is too hot! In Vegas? Come on!

a busy place only means one thing!

by shortie4youz at Citysearch

so i have tryed all 3 cheesecake factories in vegas and have more then pleasent times. my favorite out of all 3 was the one in summerlin. we waited no more then 20 minutes for our seats and the hostess was extremely sweet. our server introduced herself and right away got us acquinted with the menu and the soup of the day. she took our drink orders and brought us bread. she then took our orders, my husband opted for the jambalaya she sweetly let him know that it had a kick to it and it was made with clam juice. that statement made our night. my husband is EXTREMELY allergic to any shellfish. she was very helpful and never rushed us and was always helpful with questions. this particular night i had NO idea what kind of cheesecake to eat the waitress suggested i should take a little walk to the bakery to maybe look at what i could choose as opposed to read it from the menu. while looking at the cakes the people in the bakery offered to answer any questions i had and believe me i am one for questions. the bakers were all very knowledgeable. they explained that there are over 35 cheesecakes and they told me the top ones and which ones i might like that had chocolate. i ended up choosing the adams peanut butter one and it was simply amazing!!! besides their 30 something cheesecakes they have espresso drinks, ice cream desserts, and 3 7-layered chocolate cakes. cheesecake factory is for sure my favorite place for dinner and dessert.

  • Pros: Ambience, Dessert, Hospitality and Knowledgable Staff.
  • Cons: Pretty Busy, no where to sit/stand in the lobby.

Best darn burger i've ever eaten

by kiltze at Citysearch

I have never had a bacon cheeseburger that tasted better than the one I had here. If that wasnt good enough, the server was great! She was attentive without being overbearing. And the cheesecake! Oh My Freaking God That Cheesecake Was So Freaking Good! With as busy as it was, seating time wasnt all that bad at 30 minutes.

  • Pros: Absolutely fantastic service and food
  • Cons: Traveling out of town to eat there. Put one in Salt Lake City PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!
