Great.

by jayrayinnv

The best meal I've eaten in Las Vegas. Period. Better than than Keller, Thomas or Hubert. Better than Wolfgang. Better than Palmer. Better than Selvaggio. (Haven't yet been to Robuchon or Savoy) Had the Chef's seven course tasting menu with the wine pairings and each course was superb. Highly imaginative, beautifully presented, with excellent service. Wine pairings were perfect. View was spectacular. Somewhat noisy, as the Palms caters to a younger crowd that has money but is a little lacking in manners. Take out a second mortgage before you go. Absolutely the best place for a special occasion, but you'll need a far bigger bankroll than what I have to be a regular here. I have to say, though, that my memory of this meal will last long beyond the memory of the money. Truly outstanding in every way. Unlike many other high-end restaurants, you absolutely get what you pay for here.

  • Pros: Food, service, ambience all superb, and I mean superb.
  • Cons: Noise, price

Great View, Food OVERATED, TERRIBLE Service

by colellm

The view at this place is definately nice, but not worth the price tag. Rosmary's (off strip) had better food and better service, by far (although the food at each location did not live up to NYC standards).

Our first server was HORRIBLE. When asked how the chicken entree was, he responded "chicken is chicken", which is the rudest answer I have ever gotten. Luckily, after this we were helped by a different server who was very attentive and kind.

Appetizer presentation (smoked salmon) was amazing but in the end tasted like a hunk of smoked salmon I could have gotten from a buffet.

Filet minon entree was very bland. Deserts were pretty good.

  • Pros: View (only thing in its favor)
  • Cons: FOOD/SERVICE

Great View, Good Food, Not Worth the Hefty Price Tag

by jstek

The title says it all! The view is amazing (we went at sunset) and the food is excellent. However, I feel that for $95 per person (the prix fixe dinner), one could do a lot better. The atmosphere was very nice, even if the service was a little distant (although very attentive). Recommended for the view and the experience if you have money to burn. I'm glad we went once, but won't be back.

  • Cons: Cost to Quality Ratio

Could not have been better...

by whooshiecu123

My husband and I went to Alize for the first time Wed night, and it was literally the best food I have ever eaten in my entire life. The ravioli appetizer was amazing, and the chef sent out a darling tastings of sea bass and salmon ceviche that was out of this world. My husband said the filet was better than any he had had before. The view, the ambiance, the amazing service...it was worth every penny. I felt like we were treated like royalty; it was completely not snobby but still totally chic. I have never been so impressed with a restaurant. My only regret is not discovering this gem until the last evening of our trip; if we had known, we would have gone every night!!!

  • Pros: The food was so good it almost made me cry
  • Cons: none whatsoever

Awwwwwe, snap!!!

by kwalker5

I'm not gonna write a big hoity toity review about this place because let's face it.....you're average just like me. But this place was the bomb!!! Absolutely superb tasting meals and excellent service. View is amazing. I've been to Vegas over a dozen times and ate at many of the ritzy places.....this one ranks as my all time fave. Then again, I love the Palms Hotel in general, so I'm kinda biased. Go ahead, make a reservation.....you won't regret it. Plan on spending about a hundy per person. Remember.....it's an event to eat here.....so don't be in a rush. Sit down, relax and be prepared to be dazzled with some of the best tasting food you'll ever experience.

  • Pros: Some of the best tasting food you'll ever experience.
  • Cons: If you're cheap, you won't like this place.

Exceptional French Cuisine, Wine selection incomparable

by mmegehee

Alize pronounced (A-Lee-Zey) is right above the world famous Ghostbar, so you may be intimidated by the extremely long line to get in. Simply say that you have reservations for Alize and your in. (Assuming of course that you did make reservations -- required) Incredible view of Las Vegas with an delicious selection of meats, seafood, and like fare. Very Elegant so appropriate attire is required.

  • Pros: Great food, view, and Service
  • Cons: A little on the pricey side

yummy food, attentive but not annoying service, a very lovely way to start the evening

by kalinka

Great view and food was nice (loved the choc souffle). Service was friendly and attentive. Only complaint was the booming bass from the club downstairs (which got rather annoying). We made our reservation 2 wks in advance. I thought $200 was pretty good for 2 people (we each had an appetizer, entree, and dessert plus one cocktail and one half bottle of wine). it was really lovely.

  • Cons: the ugly 80's plates and cheesy acrylic votive holder and bud vase. 80's in a bad way

Treated Like Regulars

by pocketaces

My wife and I absolutely loved our meal. This was an occasion meal that delivered. Tragically new to fine dining, our lack of wine order did NOT in any way effect our service, which was EXCELLENT.

Staff answered, what to them, must have been very rudimentary food & wine questions.

The best dinning experience of my life and, hopefully, the first of many.

  • Pros: Service, Food
  • Cons: None

Sweeping Vegas views and inventive French cuisine served at restaurateur Andre Rochat's piece de resistance atop the Palms.

by Keith Wagstaff

In Short
Rochat, local culinary guru behind the popular Andre's, offers a dining experience high on elegance and altitude. Visitors are greeted by mahogany walls inlaid with glass displays of the 1,600-variety wine collection. The dimly lit dining room is accented with pink linens and classic portrait paintings. Adventurous dishes abound on the contemporary French menu. The Venison Four Ways takes diners through a foursquare of carefully arranged sweet sausage, tender roasted loin and venison creations.

Subpar

by smldgfrnzy

Initial service was great- initial seating, but after that it went downhill. Portobello mushroom appetizer was good, but $22 scallop was one scallop and it was a little over-cooked. Duck confit along with the Duck was horrible- it was like leather, inedible. Overall I thought the bussers and runners did a much better job than the server- he was incapable while having 3 tables. I was not blown away with this meal by any means...the view was the best thing...the food and service were both subpar.

  • Pros: great view
  • Cons: poor service
