THE CANTINA MEXICAN RESTAURANT

by KaotikDreamer633 at Citysearch

This place used to be great. Now, its just awful. There is absolutely no consistency in the

cooking! One day you get a piece of fish that covers half your plate, the next you end up

with a piece less than half the size. One day your soup is nice and creamy, the next it

tastes like someone added water to it. Their sauces even taste different every time you

show up and whether you will enjoy your meal or not seems to be left to luck. The

employees at the restaurant are terrible, the waiters constantly stare at your table, looking

for a tip, some will be as rude as to comment whether they think its too small or not.

The cashier tends to be too busy flirting with the waiters to pay attention while you're trying

to pay.

Breaking & Entering!!!!

by mandarin776 at Citysearch

Not one staff member smiled at us the entire time we were there. Our keys never did work consistently. SOMEONE BROKE INTO OUR ROOM! Our first floor room was broken into and we had a lot of personal items STOLEN. I know the hotel is not responsible for my stolen items but they are responsible for ensuring that guests have an enjoyable experience. The manager did not even bother to come to our room to talk to us about the ordeal. The head of security could not tell us what needed to be done (nor could the manager when I called her). We had to call the police ourselves to figure out what we needed to do. Neither the manager nor security offered an apology. The burglars came in through the window (the window did not have a screen on it and did not have the locks that self engage when the window was closed - you would have to manually engage the lock). The screen on the second window was bent like someone tried to remove it. I don?t know how people managed to remove suitcases from a hotel window in the middle of the day without someone noticing it. We did not expect the hotel to pamper us or kiss our butts, but it would have been nice for them to at least pretend that they cared about our safety.

  • Pros: Decent location
  • Cons: Crime/lack of serice

Terrible service!!

by ambberrama at Citysearch

Terrible service!! Stay somewhere else! We went through 4 sets of keys during our stay because none of them would work. The staff wasn't helpful at all about it, and we even got locked out at 2am one morning even though the same keys had worked that morning. Even though staff knew that there were four of us in the room, every day they would only leave two sets of towels--despite the fact that we were requesting extra towels every day, and they were cleaning up four sets of towels every morning. After we checked out of the room, we had a couple hours before we had to be at the airport. We were just hanging out for an hour, but security came and kicked us out of the hotel, even though we had only checked out that morning.

  • Pros: Cheap
  • Cons: Service, Off the strip, no airport shuttle

Good Value and Location

by westie2 at Citysearch

Check-in went smoothly and we were soon on our way to room 302 on the third floor of building E. I initially thought this was too far from the casino, but it turned out to be a perfect location. The room itself was quite large with excellent soundproofing, but furnished with castoffs from one of those rustic lodges found in the Adirondacks. No big plasma TV for us, but at least all 6 channels were in living color. We got a king size bed, we got a kitchen with both a refrigerator and stove top, we got a couch, chair and kitchen table with 2 matching chairs, who could ask for anything more? The bathroom was large and featured both a tub and separate shower unit and enclosed toilet. The Tuscany complex includes guest washer/dryers, a well equipped exercise room with outside lap pool and nice size pool with Jacuzzi

Good Value

by danb at Citysearch

Stayed here for one night but will definitely be back. Loved the fact you can park within 100 yards of your room, the rooms are all big suites and the casino and dining are all very accessible. Our suite had a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave and stove top and everything was very clean. The casino is small by mega-casino standards, but the table minimums were very reasonable and I didn't miss the frenzy of the mega-casinos. The Sports Book is real small, but fully functional. Across the street is Lawry's, Cozymel's and Mortons.

  • Pros: Parking, Big Room, Price
  • Cons: Thin towels

tuscany in las vegas

by tazman at Citysearch

My wife and I stayed at the Tuscany a few weeks ago and really enjoyed our trip. It was like a little piece of Italy and walking distace from the strip. The staff there were very accommodating as were the amenities.

The food at the restaurants was good and reasonalby priced. The casino was spacious and user friendly. This is definitely the place to stay for business and for pleasure.

  • Pros: Great atmosphere, Good Food, Great Value
  • Cons: No exercise facility

Close to strip without the Vegas feel

by ricecrazy at Citysearch

The Tuscany doesn't feel, and isn't laid out, like a Strip hotel by any means - imagine a suburban Courtyard by Marriot placed less than a 5 minute walk to Bally's and the Barbary Coast. We stayed here over CES weekend because the Strip hotels were asking way too much. The rooms we stayed in were oversized, clean, and new - the hotel apparently opened last year. The coffeemaker, kitchenette, and fridge were a nice touch. My only complaint is some slights in service - the front desk refused to let us check in before 3:00, and the valet took a long time to hail cabs. But this is definitely my alternate if the good Strip hotels are booked up.

  • Pros: inexpensive, good parking
  • Cons: service needs work
