Excellent, Caring Doctor by Marsha D. at InsiderPages
Contributor at Insider Pages
Dr. Gabroy goes the extra mile, and takes time to get to know you, and what problems you may have. He is very thorough, extremely intelligent and precise on his diagnosis. Waiting room times have always been very minimal and getting into see him has always been a very easy process. His staff has always been friendly and very helpful. I had to have emergency back surgery, and Dr Gabroy made sure I had the best doctor in Vegas to take care of me.
Dr Gabroy is very personable, professional and an excellent doctor.
I recommend him to everyone.
The Best Personal Practicioner
by Designer at Citysearch
I have lived in Las Vegas for 20 years and only three years ago found Dr. Gabroy on a friend's referal. The office is not bogged down by unnecessary technology, refering to a more basic hands on approach. They always call the day before my appt. as a courtesy call. Though this is not for everyone, I found it perfect for my family. He is THE Family style doctor that I have searched years to find. In response to some of the notes on the rush you in and out approach, I've also found that with the skyrocketing cost of insurance in LV, most doctors have to increase their load to offset the costs, while negating to raise the out of pocket costs to his patience. He is bearing the burden by carrying a large work load, but he doesn't allow it to compromise the quality of his care. Pick your battles. As of 08/2009 his office fee for uninsured is only $70. When he prescribes certain medicines, he often does follow up blood/stool samples to make sure that your body isn't having any adverse side effects. Who even cares to do that anymore? Dr. Gabroy was the only doctor to understand the source of my migraines and rather than just treat the pain, refered me to have my sinuses check out by Dr. Weingarten another fine doctor. I had a deviated septum and series of other sinus issues which would create very painful pressure in the spring and fall, and I hesitated to have surgery because it sounded so extreme. Two years later, I had the surgery and wished I would've done it sooner. Finally someone who knows what he's doing. Friendly approachable staff.
- Pros: Professional Dr, Calming & Clean office, caring Dr & Staff
- Cons: None
Worst Experience Ever!!
by Yurdaddy00 at Citysearch
Went there for my pre operation tests for knee surgery. I was told by the doctor that he felt my ortho surgeon was wrong and he thought I had gout and rheumatoid arthirits brought on by my smoking and not a torn meniscus as thought by my referring doctor. He sent me for additional bloodwork and all those tests came back negative as he was incorrect in his diagnosis. I had to leave 5-7 message for him to forward the results to my doctor. He never returned phone calls and his office is very rude.
I would not send my worst enemy to see this doctor. He does not appear to know what he is talking about. He also tries to diagnose things outside of his field.

- Cons: Very Rude and Inconsiderate
Terrible treatment...incompetent staff

This is the worst doctor's office I've ever encountered. Went in for checkup and to see about some stomach pains and other issues. After waiting for nearly two hours to be seen (I can accept that in light of our current medical system flaws), I was rushed from one area to another --only to be seen for a whopping five minutes by a doctor that didn't seem to care about any of mys issues, symptoms or questions Gabrow seemed like he wanted to be somewhere else. So all I got out of it was a referral for lab tests.
So I went for lab tests and then was sent a bill and notice saying none of it would be covered...contacted both the lab and my insurance -- both of whom said that it should and would be covered, but that the doctor's office incorrectly submitted the paperwork...I was to contact Gabrow's office again and tell them to resubmit. So I did and waited, and waited and waited. I called again, then again, then again...in all I called about 8 or 9 nine times...each time I was told their office is very busy, to be patient and they'd get to it. After a month and a half of this nonsense, I paid the amount due to the lab out of pocket.
Disgusted, I wrote a letter to Gabrow, telling him of how I was treated and expressing my disappointment. The response, I got a CERTIFIED letter back a week or so later signed by Gabrow. It stated simply that he would no longer consider me as a patient...No help, no apology, nothing to try and reimburse my or even resubmit my paperwork like his office was SUPPOSED to...No, just a big "screw you."
A couple of months later, I got a bill saying I was overdue for paying the office copay and that I needed to pay it immediately. Thing is, I paid my copay at the office when I went and have the receipt and canceled check to prove it.
This doctor and his office is apparently far more interested in your money than they are in actually helping you, treating you or simply caring.

- Cons: imcompetent staff, rude behavior, uncaring, billing nightmare
Billing issues and Insincerity
by SicklyOne at Citysearch
I went to Dr. Gabroy because of the rating and reviews below. At first he seemed really nice and caring, but he is very nonchalant and doesn't listen. The visits are too quick and he sometimes assumes rather than tests. The billing department was horrific when my fiance visited. He ended up paying out of pocket since they would not bill the insurance. Afterwards, Dr. Gabroy sent a certified letter to my fiance stating that he did not want a troublemaker for a patient.
Problems with Billing
by ann1234567 at Citysearch
Dr. Gabroy is excellent. Love him as a Dr. However, his staff is not as wonderful. I have had problems with being billed for proceedures not performed such as pluse/oxygen readings. I have also had problems with the billing department failing to submit insurance claims properly and then going after me for the full amount. When I FINALLY got a copy of what they were submitting there were errors with my ID number, billing codes and the submission procedure. They were very prompt about hiring a harassing bill collector though! If the same effort was made by properly submitting my claim to insurance and working with the insurance company there never would have been a problem.
Best Doctor in Henderson Nevada

Doc has helped me, my mother and my husband for years. He has given us bad news, helped us through it and carried us to the other side with his constant care. His referrals , when necessary, to other surgeons, specialists, etc. is always followed closely by himself. He "owns" his clientele and is a rare breed of doctor like we used to see at our doors in the old days of house calls. Caring, thorough and consistently there when you need him.
- Pros: Service and caring
- Cons: none
