The Monorail can take you from the Sahara at the far end of the Strip down to MGM Grand on the other end. It moves quickly and there is little wait for trains on most occasions. I felt very safe travelling it alone. It was also highly recommended by the hotel staff when I had to change hotels as the most reasonable way to get to the other end. Multiple locations to enter and exit the Monorail - a few are a long walking distance from the actual hotel - others not so bad. If you make multiple trips to Vegas, buy a pass that doesn't expire with multiple trips on it. My only regret is it doesn't travel a bit further down past the MGM.
