Great Dr.

Dr. Weingarten is one of the best doctors in town,if this was not true there would not have Dr's or Dr's family members going to see him for their own care, I have friends that have gone to see him and have taken their children to see him and he has given them the right diagnosis that other Dr's have missed,he is a very busy Dr.but there is a reasonf for that, if he was such bad Dr. he would not have the load of patients that he has, I have nothing to say other that we have to remember we need t be patient how is it that we can go to the DMV and spend all day there and not complain, and we can't spend an hour at a Dr's
office knowing that there might be comeone being treated for an emrgency and that's why you have to wait longer than expected, think about it that could be you or a loved one that needs that extra care.
Wouldn't go to anyone else in Las Vegas

My 8 year old son was seen by Dr. Weingarten becuase of tonsil problems that have bothered him most of his life. He was a candidate for tonsillectomy and had this done at St. Rose. I've been impressed with his treatment of people and especially his ability to interact with children and put them at ease. My son did great with his surgery. I would be happy to recommend Dr. Weingarten to anyone in the area.
- Pros: Understanding of his medical field
- Cons: A bit of a wait
FANTASTIC DOCTOR!!!

I did much research before choosing an ENT surgeon. After asking numerous healthcare personel, Dr. Weingarten was consistently the name that I was referred to as the best in town. I cannot be more thoroughly satisfied with my experience. Throughout my cancer ordeal, Dr. Weingarten has been the consumate supportive professional, and my surgery was a complete success. He listened carefully to my concerns, always respected my schedule by keeping my appointments on time, and encouraged me throughout. He has subsequently cared for my son who needed tubes for his ears, and I have referred many other friends to him for various ear or sinus issues- all of whom have been so grateful for my recommendation. I love the staff and the office, and Dr. Weingarten is simply the best!
- Pros: Best ENT Surgeon in Vegas, Great Care
NIGHTMARE TREATMENT!!!!
by mzd009a at Citysearch
I have been a patient of dr.w for 3yrs and am switching doctors because of the horrible diminishing treatment from his staff and himself! I was originally referred to dr. w from a co-worker and upon my 1st few visits back in 06 he seemed to actually "care" about his patients and took more than 2 minutes to spend time explaining things. I'm usually in his office a few times a year for sinus treatment, lesion behind my ear, and acid reflux. Over the past 3 years I've noticed a HUGE change in the way he and his staff treat patients. Whenever I go in his office now the wait is at a minimum of 45minutes because his staff purposely OVERBOOKS patients. I remember less than 2 months ago I had a 4pm appt that I SPECIFICALLY remembering asking one of his staff over the phone would I be out by 5pm because I had to go to work for 6pm on the north side of town and the lady said it would take no more than 30 min to an hour. Unfortunately, when I went in that day the nurse didn't even call me back to a room til 5:40pm!!! I was frustrated and irritated and had to reschedule my appt because not only did they wait an hour and 40min to call me back but I was now late for work!!! So they rescheduled me again for another afternoon appt which i still ended up waiting 50min to be seen! Now even when they took me back he came in and sounded like he was racing in a freakin "Nascar" race!! He spent all of 2 -3 min talking to me about my ear infection...most of which I couldn't even process quick enough because of how fast he was talking. You can hardly get a question in edgewise and when you do he responds in his typical sarcastic remarks (like you're suppose to know and comprehend EVERY word that comes outta his mouth!!!)
A few weeks later I got another ear infection in the other ear and called the nurse 1st thing that morning and asked her if they could schedule me an emergency appt with him that day. She told me she had to check with him and call me back. After 3 - 4 hrs of no call back from his office I called again and she told me that he could not see me that day because he was leaving the office early to go outta town for the weekend and that she called me in an eardrop prescription and that if I was in further pain I needed to go to the emergency room. So I go pick up the prescription and start administering it right away. Later in the middle of the night I woke up with the left side of my face and neck completely swollen and had to go to the emergency room. The doc that saw me said the eardrops weren't working because my ear was completely shut and the dr should've saw that BEFORE his office called in the prescription. Needless to say I had to have an earwick administered and pain medication and the ER doc told me I needed to make an appt with my ENT as soon as possible. So on Monday I called dr.w office and once again irritated explained what happened over the weekend with the ER room and they made me an appt to see dr. w. Once again I go in dr. w office ...wait the typical 45min to be seen...see him for 2 min just for him to tell me the ER docs at the hospital didnt know what the heck they were doing...give me the same drops in my ear...writes me the same prescription he just wrote me less than 3 days prior for the same eardrops because he doesn't take the time to properly read your chart to see what he's already prescribed....and his gone! He's like a dam "David Copperfield" magician!!!
The real unfortunate part about all of this is that HE USED TO REALLY CARE about the QUALITY of his practice and patients and at one time he actually made me feel that way...now I feel like some type of GENERIC PRODUCT on a freakin "ASSEMBLY LINE" that goes by quicker than you can see what it really is!!! Its no longer about the QUALITY of care. Its now more about the QUANTITY of how many patients his staff can possibly OVERBOOK in a day's time!!!!
- Cons: assembly line treatment!!!
horrible care

wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone!
- Cons: good doc...Horrible care

My 17 yr. old had to get his tonsils out. 1st. problem i go to pre-register and the dr. office did not pre op the secondary insurance. So the hospital said they do not take that insurance so it had to have a pr autrhorization so I call dr. weingarten's office and she said she would get it done. That was Monday, I called back on Wednsday and she told me she forgot, so she would try right now. So I call and check the next day and she tells me its very hard to get through she doesn't know what she is going to do? Mind you they had 3 weeks to get this all done and this five days before the surgery. So I call my insurance and tell them whats going on. They say tell her to call back and do it stat. She calls friday and talks to my husband and just tells him the time to be there. Then we get there and the pre authoriation is not done so we wait until about 7:00 and then finally the nurse comes out and calls us. She wasn't sure what to do but she said is going to get him ready anyways. Then Dr. W comes in and was told what was going on, he started yelling at the other drs. , nurses, me and my son. He was horrible he said just call of the surgery his office doesnt make mistakes and its the hospital fault, my fault everybody elses fault but his. He walks away and then comes back yelling again to let me now everythings ok with the insurance. After surgery he comes out tells me what to do if any complications, and then makes sure to tell me again that all the insurance papers were done and it was the hospital fault again with a very loud voice in front on the waiting room. On the sixth day of recovery my son started bleeding very badly. He calls me to tell me whats happing so I rush home. He tried to put the ice water but it isnt stoping so my son calls 911. The ambulance is there when I arrive. They take him to the hospital and call Dr. W . The bleeding is stopping. Dr. w says put ice water in your mouth and hold in the back of throat and keep doing that for 45 mins. So my son does that and it stops. Great!! Then he comes in the hospital and proceeds to yell at me and tell me what a bad parent I was because I wasn't there in front of the emergency room. Then told my son because he
didn't call him now he has to stay in the hospital and every two hours put ice water with salt in his mouth and hold it in the back of his throat and take it out for 45 mins and repeat it every 2 hrs. I asked why because he isnt bleeding any longer and he said because we didn't call him this is what he has to do. Why don't you just burn it , no he says lets just wait and see what happens. MInd you in all this he is yelling at me telling me everything is my fault and then yelled at my son. I asked right then and there if I could have another dr. The nurses said no no other dr. will touch my son until dr. W releases him from the hospital. Dr. WEIGARTEN talks to people like everybody is beneath him. I have experienced it and saw it. The following morning Dr. W released my son over the phone and didn't even come in to check on him. The next morning my son woke up with ulsers all over his mouth. I already had a new dr. for him but she hadn't see him yet so they told me to call Dr. W. Very hesitant I called because my son was in pain. He told the nurse to tell me he needs to drink more water. My son had an appt. the next day with the new dr. and she fixed him right up. He needed a mouth wash. The mouth wash cleaned up his mouth in a day. I BELIEVE THAT DR. WEINGARTEN IS MALICIOUSS AND VENDICTIVE AND HAS A GOD LIKE MENTALLITY. HE SHOULD HAVE HIS LICENSE TAKING AWAY!!!
- Pros: He is a good Dr
- Cons: terrible bedside manner with patient and there family!!!!

Thank God For Dr. Weingarten

I have had tubes basically my whole life. I was told as a teenager that if I had any problems with my ears as I grew older that there was nothing that I could do. I had way too much scar tissue and tubes would be out of the question.
So keeping this in mind I have for half of my life lived with constant headaches, ear pain, not being able to hear properly out of my right ear.
I was recommended by my employer to see Dr. Weingarten, leery that I was I went. After telling me that I have serious allergies that went untreated my WHOLE life by one of the best ENT's in San Diego, I let my guard down and Im glad I did.
I did the treatment he asked for me to do, to no avail it didnt help my ear problems. So the next option was surgery. I was scared and concerned since I was told my whole life that I couldnt have another surgery. Dr. Weingarten explained the pros and cons to me and I went ahead, what could be worse, I already couldnt hear out of the ear.
I had the surgery and Im so excited. I can hear, the headaches are gone, i have no ear pressure and when I lay on that ear at night Im not woken up to horrific pain, I sleep all night with no pain.
I like to thank Dr. Weingarten for giving me my "ear" back. We all have been raised with manners somewhere along the line and have been taught Dont judge a "book" by its cover.

I was very impressed with the time that he took to take care of me. I had a growth on my thyroid and he took out the right lobe of my thyroid. At no time was I concerned with his competence. He came highly recommended from my family doctor, and I am fully satisfied with him and his concern for me as his patient.
- Pros: Spent time explaining what he was going to do
- Cons: Small office space, small waiting room.
Here's you hat, what's your hurry ?

I can't believe some posters actually rated Dr. W 5 stars. Must have been his own staff that rated !
First of all, his office is cramped, ugly and overbooked.
You're lucky to find an empty chair.
His staff is incompetent and quite rude. The office lost my CAT scan, unforgivable !
Dr. W rushes your visit..You won't get 5 minutes from him. His mind is in a thousand other places. He is extremely unorganized as is his staff.
Finding a great doctor of any kind in Nevada is well near impossible. But, for sure you won't find excellence with Dr. Weingarten.
- Pros: Apparently is knowledgable
- Cons: You never have time enough to find out !
Happy happy happy!

After reading some of the negative reviews I went into his office with reservations, however, he was recommended to me by my general MD, whom I highly respect, so I went in with an open mind. Upon arriving, his office was so packed there was no place to sit. I thought, oh no this is going to take forever. I was happily surprised. I was in and out within 40 minutes. I didn't feel like the doctor rushed me at all and after being told by another ENT that I had to have surgery Dr. Weingarten wanted to try some other treatments first. I was very happy about that because sinus surgery is NO fun. I have gone back for a follow-up visit and again was in and out quickly. While I am not 100% well yet, I feel like I am getting there and have Dr. Weingarten to thank for that. He has been nothing but friendly and helpful to me. I would certainly have no reservations recommending him and my own doctor brings his family there as well.
- Pros: Very efficient and helped me realize surgery isn't the only option.
- Cons: None that I saw on my two visits.
