No such thing as a FREE lunch!

No joke...hands down the worst cut I have ever received in my life!

I went to Josh Blank at Verona after viewing a promotion of 1st haircut free. Seeing that he had listed his qualifications as a "master stylist" trained with a well known stylist, I thought I would give it a shot.

First impression, he looked very put together and well groomed. I came in, showed him some pictures of what I was looking for and told him how much I was willing to cut. He gave this annoying bach/chukkle at the pics like I was crazy for showing him those styles and said "Ok, I know what to do." So I thought cool, he hets what I'm going for from these 3 pics. He looked at my hair, smelled it making a face and said, "What kind of shampoo do use?" I told him (it was like Aussie or something at the time) And he proceeded to push Paul Mitchell. I felt so uneasy and insulted by the face he made. He then took me to the sink to wash my hair and the sexual inuendos began...he proceeded to "massage" my neck and it was SO painful. I was trying to be nice and went with it (Never do that!), but I was sore for the next couple of days--I must say that is dangerous, he could really harm someone seriously doing that (like nerve damage or something) . He called this pampering "Sex in the sinky". I then was ready for my cut. He straightened my hair and then began to cut. My mom was sitting watching him. At one point, he stopped and said, "the technique I'm going to use now is called "stroking." Now I don't know if this is what it's really called, but the way he said it, he intentially made it sound like another inuendo. O MY LORD, he started flicking the sciccors across my hair like he was Edward Scissor Hands and my hair was litterally flying everywhere. I was telling myself, "relax he knows what he's doing." NO! He started to check my hair did some more cutting and paused for a second moving my hair around. My mom said this is when he realized he had MESSED up!! I was oblivious still. He then finished. I tipped to be curteous and the cut was free. I left thinking I'll get a good look at my hair when I get home, and as soon as I got in the car, my mom said, "What did he do to you beautiful hair!!!" I was horified and anxious to get home. OMG! When I split my hair down the middle...One side was a whole 1 1/2" shorter than the other!!!!!! He left layers on one side so short, that it was not salvidgable in the fix...I had to wait to grow them and had a thinned out side from the back. I cried so much!! Could not sleep at all that night. It really messed with how I felt, (being a happy person, I felt so depressed--and He caused that) I went to another salon for a consultation and they were litterally horrified for me. Could not believe that this could have possibly been done by a "master stylist". I had to wait an entire year!! to grow my hair back out and get it evened up again and even then it had to be cut shorter than I've ever desired for myself. I should have gone with my gut when I sat in his chair for the first couple minutes and the anxiousness grew throughout the session.

He carries himself as an incredibly arrogant man (though his site calls it "confidence" umm NO, he is kidding himself and is just plain arrogant), that even if I would have gone back (which I just never wanted to see him ever again let alone let him touch my hair again) he would have most likely turned it around on me.

Bottom line he did whatever he wanted and not what I asked for. From what I've read below in other reviews, he has messed up enough peoples hair, that I don't even know how has a job cutting hair, let alone aspiring to have his own salon...

This was a traumatizing experience...bc to this day I am afraid to have my hair cut thinking the person will ruin it so severely again.

If I were the salon, i wouldn't want his name associated with it.

Salon itself appeared nice inside.

Don't judge the stylist by the management

Nearly every time I have sat down in my stylists chair, the horrible woman who manages the salon has come over and talked shop (aweful things) about others who work there. This has taken away from my experience every time! I wish there was some way to let the ownership know what an aweful manager they have.

STYLISTS

FIRST VISIT SATISFACTORY. SECOND VISIT SAME STYLIST UNSATISFACTORY THE STYLE WAS UNEVEN AND NOT WHAT WAS REQUESTED AT TIME OF SERVICE. I CONTACTED AND RESCHEDULED WITH STYLIST TO FIX ...

THE HAIR EXPERIENCE BECAME A REAL NIGHTMARE! THE STYLIST WAS NOT THERE AND ANOTHER STYLIST SAID THEY WOULD BE HAPPY TO FIX...BIG MISTAKE SHE DID WHAT SHE THOUGHT AND NOT WHAT WAS SAID AND NOW I HAVE A HORRIBLE SHORT AND STILL UNEVEN HAIR STYLE!!!

Overrated

I was referred to the famous Josh at Laguna. While yes he is easy on the eyes and gives a great head massage - My cut came out like cr*p. Nothing at all like we discussed. He is also extremely juvenile. Felt like I was getting my hair cut by a horny teenager. He would also not honor HIS own promotion - whereby 1st time clients receive a free haircut.

Regardless, I'll never go back.

Olga was great!

I was from out of town and was getting married in Las Vegas. I made an appointment with OLGA for an updo. She did an amazing job! I looked fabulous for my wedding! The staff was real friendly and made me feel like a important guest. The salon was clean with a real nice decor. I would highly recommend this salon to my friends visiting the Las Vegas area.

Verona Garden Spa

Arrogant man at the front desk, one woman said he was the manager. He treated the staff with disrespect. I was overcharged for one of the services I received and when I asked him about it he walked away saying I needed to talk with the staff person. I stood my ground and was issued a credit, not a refund for the overcharge. That is illegal.

Heard of "Got Milk" Well They "Got JOSH"!!!!!!!

Well this was my first time at this salon, but I had to go there to find "JOSH BLANK". I live in South Carolina and Josh did my hair at A Robert Cromeans Salon while I was visiting Vegas a year ago. I and my husband have never been so pleased with my hair. If I could I'd have him do my hair all the time, but he's in Vegas. Ya'll don't know how lucky ya'll are to have this amazingly talented Man in Your state. Josh if you see this my husband said you did another great job with the style and the color. Josh is worth every penny that you have ever spent on your hair and then some. You get what you pay for, why not try the BEST.

• Pros: They have JOSH BLANK!!!! And everyone else ther was super nice.
• Cons: I didn't notice any.

Josh Blank is AMAZING!!!

Josh Blank until recently from A Robert Cromeans Salon is now at Verona Laguna! He is the most amazing stylist ever! Whatever you are used to, you will be amazed at how skilled this guy's hands are and more amazed at how affordable he's become. He lowered his prices from that over-priced casino salon so he could keep his clients. He has done my hair for 2 years and always telling me how to take care of it, style it, and what's new!

Just simply amazing!
