Not a luxury hotel, but who needs luxury when you don't spend that much time in bed in Vegas anyways. The important thing is they have a nice pool, great service, and a bowling alley which is tons of fun!! Great place to stay that's cheap but still has all the amenities.

I love the Orleans, thats right you heard me! I know a lot of people don't like it, I've even heard it called a dive but I really don't think they've acutally stayed there when they say that. Rooms are very big for the price complete with a little sitting area and two nice big (or one huge) bed! The returants are the best value at all most any hotel you can think of. The italian place may be one of my favorites in the country (you have to try the twice baked lasanga!!! One of my top 10 atf meals I've ever had!!!), Great Sushi place (maybe best Philly I've ever had!!!), a good cajun place, a mexican place and if your losing your shirt in the casinos it has a 16 screen movie house and even a bowling alley...needless to say it would be great for families, but ironicly I didn't see many the three times I've stayes there. My favorite strip hotel is the Luxor, my favorite downtown/old vegas hotel is the Golden Nugget and The Orleans is by far my favorite value hotel in Vegas...you seriously cannot beat it!

  • Pros: Great food place, great rooms for price
  • Cons: off strip, no other hotels right around it

In Short
The theme here is Mardi Gras, Louisiana style, but the atmosphere is not rowdy. That's just fine by locals, who are the Orleans' primary market and enjoy the conveniences the casino offers. Gaming is up-to-the-minute, with all the favorite card games and latest slots available, as well as table games, keno and an excellent poker room. Live entertainment at the small Orleans showroom has been consistently top-notch. In the warmer months, the casino hosts parties by the pool.

The Orleans is easily one of the best values in Vegas. The price is right and the hotel itself is a great place. The location is just off the strip, but there is a shuttle service that takes guests to the strip every 30 minutes or so. The restaurants in the Orleans are priced right and the food and service is great. The Orleans offers $2 gaming tables so most anyone can afford to wager a little here.

  • Pros: Price and Value

This is one of our favorite hotels/casinos in Las Vegas. Rooms are large, 450 sq feet, well maintained, and bargain priced. The bathrooms are not overly large, but still quite nice. The pool area is good size and nice though sunworshipers should be advised that the sun is blocked by the buildings in mid-afternoon. Food options here are extensive with our favorites being the French Market Buffet, Big Al's (oyster bar), Prime Rib Loft and Don Miguel's. Less satisfactory is Sazio, a low priced, low quality Italian restaurant that along with Brendan's Irish Pub is rumored to be closing early next year to make room for an upscale nightclub. Other amenities include bowling, movies, a large arena, showroom and lounge. The usual assortment of gambling options are available including some full pay video poker.

  • Pros: Excellent quality for the price, lots of food and entertainment options
  • Cons: Off Strip, but only a free shuttle drive away

The best thing about this place is that they have a bowling alley if you're craving that activity on your vacation. Otherwise it's one of those places you walk into and then walk back out. It looks old on the outside and the inside to me is outdated and grungy. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you get free rooms.

  • Cons: off strip

i had no hot water for three days, they never gave me new soap or shampoo for three days, and i have never been in a las vegas hotel room that did not have a safe!!!! they told me to bring my valuables to the casino cashier and they would put them in a saftey deposit box! oh yes that sounds like a real good idea! waiting in line to give them my money and wallet before i can go to the gym, pool, spa, and then waiting in line again to get my stuff before i go back to my room? the room was very large and the property was nice, if they put safes in the rooms and get better maintainence and housekeeping the place would be a steal .

  • Pros: it's cheep
  • Cons: no room safes!!! no hot water!!

This is Vegas' best kept secret. It is off the beaten Vegas path but hotel is awesome. Service is great, rooms are huge and clean, casino pays well, and the restaurants and entertainment are plentiful.

My husband is an avid bowler and bought his bowling gear along on the trip. We never expected the inside bowling alley to be so large. It was amazing and kept him busy while I gambled. The movie theater is also inside and has several screens, I believe 8 screens.

The buffet was quite good and inexpensive.

Starbucks is conveniently located right inside as well.

You really don't need to leave the hotel for anything unless you just HAVE to tour the strip.

Enjoy!

  • Pros: Entertainment right inside
  • Cons: None

the casino is VERY stuffy. Just going through it to leave makes you stink like cigarettes. Aside from that, it's got a bowling alley, movie theater and good restaurants. Our room had a lovely view of the WALL, but the little window in the shower letting in natural light was great. Oh...it also has a great daycare center for the little ones !!!

We go to Las Vegas for business conventions, and have probably been there 25 or 30 times. We have stayed in a variety of hotels, and most, particularly on the strip, we have found them more hype than value. We discovered The Orleans hotel about 5 years ago, and after our first stay, we have finally found a home, in Vegas. A bit off the strip, but HUGE suite style rooms, quality furnished, Internet Connections, the works.

We have stayed at some of the name hotels on the strip, and not only found nothing exceptional about them, but found at most the food was poor quality, and highly over priced.

The restaurants in the Orleans are quality, and offer reasonable prices. I doubt that we will ever stay at any other hotel in Las Vegas, after such wonderful experiences at The Orleans.

  • Pros: Huge Rooms, Top value for cost, Friendly personnel
  • Cons: None to us
