WORST SERVICE EVER!
by JennyQ461 at Citysearch
My family and I are from Chicago and love our Chicago style food but Amores has got some major issues.
We have ordered from there reluctantly numerous times.
EVERY SINGLE time our order has been screwed up!!
Forgotten items, charged incorrectly, bullied by the delivery driver, treated poorly from the girls at the desk, orders not even sent to the kitchen, LONG waits, cold food, undercooked doughy pizza, etc etc.... all this with not even an an apology.!!!
I am not exaggerating on my experiences at Amores.
If you are in a mood for Chicago food... there are plenty of places to get a deep dish or a Vienna hot dog... Please save yourself the trouble and look for it elsewhere.
Not my Chi-town pizza

Two weeks ago we were in Chicago and had Gio's pizza and oh, it was the bomb. It oooooozed fresh Mozzarella and the spinach was fresh spinach layered on the bottom with just a nice amount of sauce on top. So, when I read the reviews I thought YES! I don't have to ship Gio's to Las Vegas. Sad to say, that isn't the case.
The crust was good. The sauce had a nice flavor. But it stops there. The spinach was frozen spinach so there was a slime consistency to it. There was half as much cheese as was needed and it felt like they put so much sauce on top to make up for the lack of mozzarella.
For lunch I took 2 pieces, cut the crust off of one, removed over half the spinach and sauce and put them together. It wasnt half bad, but still ...not Gio's.
The staff was very nice and pleasant. The calamari was ok. It needed to be a bit crispier but had good flavor and was the right tenderness.
- Pros: Nice service.
- Cons: Not as good as the reviews

Closest thing to Chicao style in Vegas!

Let me first say I had given up on finding a real Chicago style pizza place in Las Vegas until I had Amore Taste of Chicago. I am from Chicago and had been searching for some good stuffed and thin crust pizza and found it. To give you a judging point, in Chicago my favorite pizza was Giordano's stuffed and Amore is the closest thing to it. I have eaten their thin crust and stuffed and both very good. In addition, I used to love Portillo's italian beef in chicago. While Amore's is not Portillos, it is very good and definitely the closest thing in Vegas to Chicago italian beef. I have pretty much tried every pizza place in Vegas and Amore is the best!
- Pros: Taste Like Chicago Pizza
- Cons: None
Total Chicago experience!

I may be the only tourist to comment on this place at this point, but every time I go to Las Vegas (next time in 2 weeks), I make it a point to eat here 1-2 times each visit. As I currently live in Atlanta, GA, it is hard to find good Chicago food here including stuffed pizza. Amore is awesome. The owner is a good guy and checks with every table when he's in. The food is absolutely awesome! You start with a complimentary minestrone soup and I do not mind waiting 45 minutes to 1 hour to get the pizza (it takes longer to cook a stuffed pizza) as it is definitely worth it! I have always received good service in there and love the Chicago atmosphere that has been created there. I took 7 guys out there last September as we got together for our fantasy football draft (next one in Septmber 2007) and they are all requesting that we go back there. I have never spent the time to type a review for another restaurant, so this tells you what I think of this place. My mouth will be watering for the next two weeks until I get back there!
- Pros: Great food, service, atmosphere!
- Cons: None!
