The cabins next door are reasonably
priced and definitely worth staying for a romantic getaway!

BEAUTIFUL, PEACEFUL and GREAT VIEWS!.
We had the pleasure of staying in one of the sweetest cabins. Deanna and Amber were absolutely wonderful they made sure our experience was bar none. The food over at the lodge was great and the clean fresh air feels so good! Great place to just chill, honeymoon or get away! Loved it!

Great Food and Service, but.....
Ill make this short and sweet, the food and service was great, but for being called a "family restaurant" I thought the bartender was dressed completely inappropriate.

Mt. Charleston Lodge.
My wife and I spent the weekend at the Mt. Charleston Lodge. We stayed in #15 which had an amazing view. If you are going ask for #15 or #16 as the views are not blocked at all. The cabin was cute and cozy however be prepared as there is no TV reception but they do have a DVD player in each room. Bring your own movies because the ones they rent for $1.00 each are a bit dated. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The only real negative was the restaurant (which is the only place there is to eat) was awful! It took the waiter more than 15 minutes to get back to us after dropping off menus. The food was disgusting. I had a 24 ounce Porterhouse steak which wasn't what I initially ordered. I ordered a Ribeye and about 10 minutes after I ordered it they came back to say they didn't have any but they would give me the Porterhouse for the same price. When it finally showed up it looked dry as if it had been sitting out for too long. I touched it to check how warm it was and it was stone cold. I then called or waiter (bad waiter) and told him that it was ice cold and raw inside and dry outside so he took it back. When it came back it was hot but burnt on one end and partially raw on the other side. I took a bite and it was like chomping into shoe leather. It was at that point that I had enough. I sent it back and didn't eat that night. Fortunately we had food of our own to tide me over. Bottom line was everything they did at the restaurant was bad and wrong. The next night we decided to try again with a different waiter because we didn't have a choice as it's the only restaurant there. I ordered Scampi over noodles. On a scale of one to ten I'd give it a 2 but that's only because I'd never had a 1 before (except for the previous night). The shrimp was undercooked and tasteless and the noodles tasted like they cam out of a can. If you take your own food (microwave and mini fridges in each room) you’ll probably be quite a bit more pleased plus you’ll save a bundle because the food at the restaurant is so expensive (and nasty tasting). Still, we would stay there again because the views and the peace and quiet we worth the cost and the trip.

Great food and fabulous service.
Our first trip to the Mount Charleston Lodge was a treasure find! The service and food was excellent. The atmosphere was amazing. It was so nice to take in a breath of fresh, crisp air! Can't wait to go back when the weather starts changing and the mountain gets a little snow!

Historic mountain lodge is a cool escape minutes outside of Las Vegas..
In Short
Nestled among the pines, just a 35-minute drive from the Strip, the Mount Charleston Lodge provides refuge from the summer heat and year-round recreational opportunities including nearby skiing in the winter. Located in Kyle Canyon, the hotel has 200 rooms, plus 23 log cabins with private decks, fireplaces and two-person whirlpools. There is also a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is wide-ranging: Elk chops, ostrich filet and pheasant on one side, half-pound burgers, sandwiches, steaks and pasta on the other.
