What Our Expert Scouts Say

Aureole At Mandalay Bay
June 10, 2013

Better known for foie, truffles, and its mind-boggling four-story wine tower than cheap eats, Aureole nonetheless has a super happy hour--nightly from 5:30 to 7pm, you can feast on $8 yellowfin poke and sirloin sliders, washed down with $6 cocktails and pinot noir.

Not worth the money. Service was terrible, food mediocre, meal took forever, and bill was huge. The fixed price menu and automatic gratuity (large group) meant they could neglect us and we'd still have to give them a good tip.

May not matter to everyone, but there were no vegetarian or chicken entrees on the menu (they did make a chicken dish on request though) and the worst part--they served us bread with bacon and did not tell us! Half of us do not eat pork for ethical and religious reasons, but we did that night, much to our horror!

There are so many better restaurants in Vegas. Don't waste your time or money at Aureole.

Aureole: Whatever you are thinking about this place, just don't do it. Trust me.. OMG This place sucked. Don't waste your time or your money. I wanted this to be a good restuarant. But it just wasn't. I have been to many Vegas places and there are so many other, better restuarants to eat at. This is supposed to be a "wine restuarant." I had to request the menu. After ordering, I got the wrong wine. We waited for over three hours for 2 of the 3 courses we ordered. Finally, we just left. The ambiance is average. The service sucked. The food was not good. There are so many great places to eat is Vegas. This place is a mistake.

Delicious Family Style Dining. A romantic atmosphere, excellent food, and excellent service is what you can expect at China Grill. You must check out the bathrooms...way cool.

Just a very cool bar........ If you don't have patience to wait in line at the bar don't go, but this place may be my favorite Vegas bar. It's not very big which contributes to the waiting in line but its well worth a few minutes of your time. Great selection of Vodkas and just a cool place to check out. I have dined at the restaurant several times and I also recommend trying it.

Amazingly Unique. The best fusion chinese food ever! I love this dimly lit trendy fusion-chinese restaurant. The dumplings are a MUST and everything we ordered was unique and great! Don't expect plain white rice to come with your dishes! They served onion stings with amazing sauces. Totally different in a great way. I even dragged my boyfriend to use the bathrooms as we were leaving....I had never seen anything like them! I definitely recommend this hidden gem at Mandalay Bay!

Butthole Waiter - dark hair, goatee, and glasses. I sat at the table waiting for a server for 20 minutes. (Actually we watch the server walk around ignoring us for 20 minutes). I had to ask him twice to come take our drink order. After bringing us our drinks, we never saw him again. So after another 20 minutes, I chased him down for the bill. I asked him for the bill three times. (This is not him coming to my table. This is me running around the restaurant trying to find him so I can pay my bill.) So he brought the bill. I paid in cash and walked out with my girlfriend. He chased out after us accusing us of not paying!!!!! I asked him if he had check the table if I had paid and that I will go back to the restaurant and check with him. He then said (ironically) ?It?s okay, I TRUST you.? He is a dark haired man with a goatee and glasses. If he comes to your table as your server, get up and walk out.

amazing food. i've been here multiple times and it's a pleasure to dine here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. the food was prepared amazingly. Foie gras is wonderful. the steak was done to my liking. the lamb is great too. The caviar is awesome. The decor is fun and trendy and also a great thing to stare off at. I can't wait to go again.

Slightly depressing ambience and food was okay. I had heard a lot about Red Square, mainly about the vodka locker, but was frankly kind of disappointed with the dinner I had there. Food was okay, ambience was slightly depressing because the furnishings looked kind of shabby and run-down. Just go for drinks. The martinis are quite good, but very strong.

Best Martini in Town at the Coolest bar. It's ceratinly easy to see why The Red Square at Mandalay Bay has the coolest bar, it's made completly of ice. That said, the service is great, and the drinks are wonderful. The only problem I have with this place is that the bar area is too small for the number of patrons waiting outside the door for the doors to open. Another plus though is the strong drinks! The husband and I shared one lest we go over our limit for martini's! I would recommend that every martini lover stop here at least once while in vegas.
