the food is trying hard to be good but its missing the mark. Went to the newly remodeled Carmine's. it looked beautiful!! i was a fan of the pre-remodeled carmine's food and was hoping the food was still good. happy to report the sauce is still delicious! so any pasta served with the sauce should be good. i had eggplant parm. & it was very good. disappointed with the fried calamari appetizer...rubbery. the bread use to be good before and now they have moved to breadsticks from the supermarket. The salad with the house italian dressing was very good. the desserts were a dissapointment. we ordered a canolli that had a strong taste that just wasn't right for this east coast italian. we also tried the fried puffs with chocolate and strawberry sauce & vanilla icecream. the ice cream had hardly any taste and they could have been more generous with the chocolate and strawberry sauce. its like the food at carmine's is trying hard to be good but it's just missing the mark. The staff was polite and attentive. The tvs were great. our bill was more than it use to be. They should have updated the restraunt and kept the food the same.

With ten TV sets showing sports, sports and sports, this is a solid sports-lovers bar. It's not uncommon to see the regulars spending an afternoon glued to the screen without ever making eye contact with the bartender. Luxuries like Foster's and Newcastle flow from the taps, and the female bartenders wear short-shorts that can be a nice distraction from poor referee calls.
