Retro-outfitted servers deliver burgers, malts and sandwiches to your car at this '50s-style drive-in chain..
Founded in 1953 as a hamburger-and-root-beer stand, this nostalgic eatery is known for its intercom ordering system and roller-skating carhops. While servers rarely roller skate anymore, the famous made-to-order, all-beef burgers and thick malts are still menu favorites. Other signature items include Toaster sandwiches (made with thick Texas toast), extra-long chili and cheese hot dogs and hand-battered onion rings and tater tots. Desserts include chocolate, vanilla and strawberry shakes and fresh fruit slushes.
When I looked at the list of best LV 'burgers, I almost choked! Sonic's burgers shouldn't even appear on an AVERAGE list. The patties are small...I'll bet less than 1/4 pound. The buns alternate between soggy and hard, and the condiments are luke warm, as is the meat.
Another reviewer said Sonic's 'burgers are better than McDonalds and Burger King...that is nothing to cite as a reason to even mention them on a "Best Bureger? list.
You must be kidding. If the hamburgers at Sonic are considered the some of the best in Las Vegas we are in serious food culture shock. Let us not confuse fast food with good food, because our taste buds are mired in muck let's try to keep our brains out of the sludge. Sonic is a trip into the nostalgia of yesterdays good times, a place you take the kids for a treat because it's fun. Not to say that they do not have good food on the menu, but to be considered one of Las Vegas' best burgers in quite a stretch. Sad as it is!
Excellent. A lot better then McDonalds & Burger King, and more food for the bang.
Great. I like this place they have good hot dogs Their prices are good for what you get. You get some coupons in the newspaper that are good.
