God help you if you go there. Bring an advocate. If you go to this hospital you better bring an advocate or your own nurse. They will try to kill you or at least make you sicker than when you arrived. My father (89) was in the hospital for Gall Stones. He was NPO for 2 days. They didn't even give him an IV until I screamed at them 10 hours after he arrived in his room. I was watching him die of dehydration before my eyes. When the doctor finaly saw him I complained to him. He laughed and said "I get that complaint all the time".

Don't get me started on the roomate from the mental health facility that tried to climb into bed with him or the other mental patient with a contagious form of explosive diarea. My father is old not senile. He also left the hospital with diarea.

it's a scam.... They don't care about people. it's about $$. I was bitten by a brown recluse on my neck when I was sleeping. At first, I didn't know what it was. It look like a pimple at first. Then as day goes by, it got worse. After the 4th days, my skin started to blister. Thats when I look up on line on what it was. I tried all the remedy that people had mention. I've keep my wound, clean.

wash it with anti-bacteria soap very often. Now my wound was on it way, to healing already. But, my wife was concern about me and keep telling me to go check it out. Oh the way, I tear up my house to look for the spider and found it on my 3rd day after my bite. I am a very clear person and my house is organize. It was the only spider in the house behind the drawer. I caught the spider and put it in a glass container. So I headed to the hospital, after my wife got home from work so she could watch the kids. As I got to the hospital the entrance was lock, and the sign said to go through the emergency entrance. I went in with my container. Talk to the reception, nicely. I am here to ask question about my spider bite. He really could answer me, and told me that the doctor will have to see and give diagnose. so I said ok. Then they ask me for my insurance which I have. so I give it to them. After he got all my information, I notice that the doctor was standing behind him listening and walk away. At first, I didn't know it was the doctor who was gonna diagnose me. After they go all my information, then she came back and I ask her all the questions, that is bothering me. She said it ok and ask me if I got a Tetanus shot. I told her,"NO". This to me took less than 5 mins. Took my blood pressure and send me to a room to wait. I waited for 10 mins. Then a nurse came in, gave me a shot and prescribe 2 medicine to take. ok. I know my insurance is 80/20. Then I went up to the counter to pay. I was told the bill would be $202 for me and the whole amount is $1020. I was to my shock. I'm like what? I ask again. then I ask for a print out and was to that the computer was down. The lady that collect the money, keep telling me about all the charges for the room, etc. I told her, but came just for information if anything else that I have to do. It less than 30mins here. she didn't care. I didn't want to make a scene so I charge it and left. I thought That was the end of it. Today I receive a bill for $504, plus $186 from some other place. I feel like I've been con buy the hospital. I call the hospital to talk to them and told them off. So, don't go to Sunrise. There take you for every penny and tell you at the end. I am unemploy with 4 young kids. My insurance is under my wife.

NEVER take your children to Sunrise Childrens Hospital. If I could rate less than one star I would. This place is an unorganized deathtrap. The lack of communication is ridiculous and many mistakes are made. My Son now has a profound, irreversible brain injury due to the lack of obvious action by the nurses and Doctor on duty. Beware....

sunrise hospital safty. Sunrise hospital does not insure the safty of the public. They have a parking garage where several employees and visitors have gotten there cars broken into and stolen. They have had nurses jumped and beat up in the parking lots. They have no cameras to secure there parking lots. Security allows people to loiter and break into your vehicle. Word of warning.....dont go there alone. Our emergency room visit was the worst most unprofessional visit we could have experienced. I was sick to my stomach and waited in the er waiting room for 5 hours and asked for a basin to use and the nurse just screamed at me....i do not recommend this to anyone...not alone the safty of us being there. we lost all of our stuff and all we got was we didnt see anything. What do they pay these guys for??????

AVOID SUNRISE HOSPITAL MEDICAL TRAUMA -EMERGENCY IF POSSIBLE. It was about 6:30 am on memorial day last May 25, 2009. I arrived at the Sunrise ER with a really severe pain on my right side. Upon arriving at the trauma and ER grasping my right side in agonizing pain, I was instructed to fill out a form the nurse did not asked what's wrong. I waited about five minutes then a Nurse ask what's my name but still did not ask what was wrong I was then sent back to the waiting roomat this point I realized there was nobody else in the waiting room, while I was seating and waiting in severe pain I notice two or maybe three security guards chatting with the nurses in the ER I ask them if anyone can help me but all I got for an answer is up to them, I ask one of the nurses, she then answered by saying "what?" in an obviously annoyed tone. I asked them where the nearest VA Emergency Hospital. either noone knew or just ignored the questions... then she told me just the minute. I feel like I was a nausance to them, I had no choice but to be at their mercy then approximately 40 minutes later a nurse called me back to check me in and took my vitals. After I was entered into the computer I was place into a bed but unfortunately I was still very much in pain and it took another 30 to 45 minutes of begging and pleading to please give me something to ease the pain. Finally the doctor diagnose my condition as having kidney stones, I realized my situation was admittedly not as serious as I thought but at the time with that tremendous pain I trully believe it to be serious. I heard later that week about several others in complain that they had been waiting for six and even eight hours thats amazing but when I arrived at the ER there was nobody in the waiting room. I agree that Sunrise's staff are maybe burned out and they have a culture of being insentive and rude to ill patients and families atleast from my experience that day, even from that I returned to the ER later that day after I was released so I can thank the nurse that finally admitted me in and took my vital signs. I can't really be sure what motivated this annoyed attitudes towards ill patients, I just hope no one else has to go thru this type of experience I went thru.
