What A Circus, Circus

Get ?em in the line, show ?em who?s boss.

Push ?em into the chute, life isn?t all dross.

Come on! Hurry up! Move ?em on down!

Is this the only show in town?

Use the dogs if you must;

They?ll soon learn who to trust.

There?s the counter, how many head?

The manger is there, just up ahead.

Glistening brass and aluminum doors,

There?s china and glass and much, much more.

All right, they?re on the run now,

Muzzles agape following the lead cow.

They can see what they want,

Herders ahead, one is named Mont.

Jaws moving, going up and down;

I swear, that one?s really a clown!

Fodder into stomachs awash with acid;

Get it stirred up, there better be a lid!

Appetites satisfied, they?re back on the move,

Looking for excitement, finding the groove.

A new kind of hunger, to win at all cost.

Soon they?ll discover, all they had is now lost.

To a slaughterhouse called casino they are mindlessly directed,

Promises of fame if by fate they?re selected.

Tickets for entertainment, wining and dining, too.

This marvelous assortment of beasts, am I at the zoo?

But it?s all in great fun, with this I agree;

However the ultimate cost is too expensive for me.

For children, gambling is not legal, or so they say;

Ways to skirt that issue are easily found today.

They pay money for tickets and prizes instead of cash.

And when they get home they put them in stash.

Little do they realize that five dollar bear

Cost them at least fifty there at the top of the stair.

But we keep going back, excitement?s the fuel

That goads one and all into playing the fool.

Oh, the glitter, the noise and the fabulous toys!

All part of the invitational ploys Circus Circus extends to the boys--

And girls.
