Las Vegas is known as the city for gambling and the Monte Carlo's casino is part of the reason why. Slots, blackjack, high-limit gaming areas, baccarat, roulette, video poker, and a race and sports betting area are offered.
Great place – For a break from the rest of the Strip casinos, try the Monte Carlo. It is a bit older, a bit less luxurious, but every bit as fun. The brewpub/bar in the back is a great place to have fun, the casino has lower limits, and overall, this is what you should get out of Vegas!
LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION! – This is the PERFECT location to stay on the strip.....loved the location...didn't enjoy the watered down drinks you get served in the casino while gambling, but the rooms are nice and comfortable. Very quite hotel. Haven't tried any restaurants as of yet....not a very busy casino.
Beautiful hotel on the strip! – We stayed here for the first time and it was a wonderful experience. The rooms are very comfortable and our view of the Strip was amazing. Great location and wonderful customer service.
Great value – The beds are really comfortable and the bathroom is huge and luxurious. The location is ideal, being in the middle of the strip. But, it is still affordable.
Nice place to stay, nothing spectacular, but a good clean, affordable room – The casino itself is "nice". Not amazing, not trashy, just nice. The rooms are clean, the overall hotel is clean and pleasant. You're not going to get the ritzy Vegas feeling here, but you also won't spend a bundle foryour room. My husband and I stayed here, and we found the staff to be very friendly and accomodating. We ate at both the Brewpub (nice, large, family oriented and served great peel and eat shrimp) and at the Chinese restaurant located off of the casino floor. That was also a good meal at a decent price. This hotel seems more family freindly and more casual than some of the other strip motels. Again, it is in a great location, center strip!
Great For Families-Excellent Pool Area-Casino is not Gargantuan! – My family and I have been coming to the Monte Carlo for several years now. The hotel is well set up so that it doesn't take you 3 days to find the exit door in the casino from your room. It always smells so good when you walk in too. Great foodcourt right off the elevators, allows you to take back to your room if 'room service' is too costly for you. The pool is great for kids with very good pool supervision by the lifeguard and easy visibility from almost any spot. The rooms are not overly fancy, but solid amenities, very clean. If you choose to go the buffet route--Monte Carlo has some of the best 'buffet food' on the strip--not greasy, good selection, well set up dining rooms. I love when they have online specials--rooms can be found at really competitive prices.
budget trip – Stay here if you want to save money and you don't care about the hotel. The rooms are very simple and outdated. There is a foodcourt in the casino with mcdonald's...that's a clue. However, it is cheap, so if you want to spend very little, this could be the place for you.
Incredible poor treatment by management causes us to never return. – We were treated very rudely by staff and management at this hotel and our attempt to resolve the situation was completely ignored. After being called a liar in the Brew Pub by the manager we left rather than have the experience ruin our day. We stopped by the guest services area after leaving to provide them with our name and room number so that the bill would be paid even though we had not eaten anything at that point. A food and beverage manager was called to "resolve the situation to our satisfaction". The food and beverage manager simply said that the restaurant manager was incorrect and that I was correct in what had occured at the restaurant, but never said that the manager had treated us poorly by calling me a liar and never apologized for the manager's actions. In my opinion this is simply not an appropriate way to treat guests. I will never return to this hotel in the future. After the food and beverage manager walked away with no apology another employee at the guest services area noticed what had happened and apologized for how we had been treated. Even he could see that we had been treated very poorly in this situation. There are so many good hotels to stay in Vegas. This is not one of them. And I say that after having stayed at the Monte Carlo several times over many years. But never again.
Surprisingly kid friendly pool, THIN WALLS!! – Had my renewal of vows ceremony in one of their banquet rooms, which turned out really nice. Service was good, price was fair and the ambiance was intimate and lovely. Next day we used the pool. Fantastic and really kid friendly! The food at the buffet is xlnt and the service and atmosphere is nice. We had two adjoining rooms on the third floor, every time someone flushed, showered or farted, we heard it! Our room was next door to a service station and at 3:00am they started doing dishes!! The machine was so loud that it shook the room! The front desk wanted US to move! At 3:00am!! They finally turned it off after we begged, only to turn it back on at 8:00am! They offered us a free breakfast, hey better than nothing...I won $2200 with a $10.00 bill on one of their slot machines, evens out.
We paid $59.00 for a Sunday night – So what I expect and the average person that pays more may differ. The rooms were of nice size but the walls are thin hotel was clean, the Spa was FANTASTIC!!, the amenities are Gilchrist and Soames (top of the line) didn't see the pool we went on 3/7/05 for one night. Excellent location on the strip not far to walk for most of the hotels on the strip casino was clean not much activity (winning) on the slots, the cafe was okay service everywhere in the hotel was friendly a plus for them for sure. I was told that the cocktail service was lacking especially around the slots.
