What People Are Saying About Grand Lux Cafe
Featured Review

In Short – Soaring ceilings, Venetian marble and hustling headset-wearing servers--the decor is over-the-top Las Vegas. Considering the Grand Lux Cafe serves as the "coffee shop" to the Venetian Hotel, the decor seems to suit Strip crawlers and locals alike. The menu offers whopping portions and a dizzying array of choices--jambalaya, Yankee pot roast and Wiener schnitzel, to name a few. Prices are higher, but finer ingredients and exquisite presentation are worth the extra bucks.

Good Option For Busy Day

I had dinner two times at this restaurant off of the main casino in the Venetian last week; both times when we were tired and didn't feel like going too far.
The first night, the service was pretty good and food was great. I had the Santa Barbra Chicken sandwich, which was Grilled chicken with Avocado, Swiss Cheese and Bacon. It had tons of flavor and was very filling. The french fries served with this dish were so-so. Their ranch dressing is very garlic-y so be aware for that too.
The second time I ate at the Grand Lux Cafe was less than pleasing. We had been seated and were not greeted by our waitress for about 10 minutes. After being greeted I ordered a drink and appetizer and everyone else ordered drinks. A couple minutes later the waitress stopped back to drop off drinks take our main order and left. We didn't see her again for about 30 minutes when she brought our appetizer. After she brought the appetizer it felt like it was an inconvenience to have her refill our drinks with her attitude. The main entrees came out about 20 minutes after we received the appetizer which was decent timing. Again, she disappeared for an extremely lengthy amount of time.
I had ordered the chicken fettuccine alfredo which was good and filling. The portion was gigantic and could easily feed two people. In fact everything at this dinner was gigantic. The chicken tender meal one of the guests at my table had was huge, couldn't even finish half of it. The other ordered the chicken sandwich I had the previous time here and the final guest had Chicken Parmesan which had a more than healthy dose of chicken and pasta.
Overall, I would probably go back because it's convenient and the food is pretty good for the price (inexpensive for Vegas). The atmosphere inside is peaceful and goes with the whole Italian resonance of the Venetian. We never had to wait for a table but on the weekends I have seen a line out the door late night. The waitstaff could use a crash course in customer service which I am surprised at considering Vegas is the customer service capital of the country.
- Pros: Large Menu, Lots of Seating, Large Portions
- Cons: Neglecting Waitstaff
The best part of the Venetian

I have now stayed at the Venetian twice for work. While I find that most things in Vegas are way over priced, the Gran Lux Cafe is awesome. It's affordable and you get a lot of great food and friendly service. I know this sounds crazy, but trust me, you have to get the sloppy joe's. They are incredible !! I only wish I had a Grand Lux cafe close by so that I could have another one.
- Pros: Great food, friendly service & affordable
- Cons: none that I can think of
Eat GLASS at your own risk

If you have an accident at the Grand Lux Cafe, expect to be ignored, your accident report will be misfiled and you will be conveniently forgotten. The one desert I ate cost me hundreds of dollars because I had to pay for the damages it caused. Over New Years I stayed in a suite at the Las Vegas Venetian and visited the Grand Lux Cafe three times without incident. The last day I was there I persuaded a friend to try their creme brulee and halfway through eating the desert, I bit down on some GLASS and got it stuck in my tooth. I managed to extract the chunk of glass from my molar (with difficulty) and spat out the shards of glass that filled my mouth. I called the waitress over and advised her that the soft creamy desert was filled with glass and she disappeared into the restaurant before allowing me to finish what I was saying. Eventually the manager, Pablo Cardona, came out and confirmed it was glass by rolling it between his fingers. Mr. Cardona asked me to fill out an accident form and then told me they would remove all the sugar in the area of the kitchen where the creme brulee had been made. He also asked me to call the Hotel Reception during my stay if I had any emergency medical problem from having glass in my food (like a cut esophagus). Luckily I had managed to remove all the glass from my mouth before swallowing! After arriving home in California, I visited my dentist and sure enough I had damaged my tooth. I called Pablo Cardona and was told he was on vacation. I've been calling Pablo Cardona and Cheesecake Factory Risk Services for the last four months and they are always "in a meeting" and my calls go directly to voice-mail.
- Pros: food presentation
- Cons: customer service
CUSTOMER IS NEVER RIGHT

First we were seated at a filthy table with dirty utensils as well as dirty drinking glasses. Also the food we ordered was not the food we recieved. Also the manager asked if we are sure of what we ordered. No compassion for guest and no adjustment to the bill. If you are considering rating here, I suggest looking at other options. Las vegas has many more wonderful resturants. Do NOT consider this place if you want to be treated with respect.
Great Place, Lots to choose from!

We have been going here for years. They have a lot of choices. The food is really good, the service is well too. The only reason I give it a 4 is because there late late menu does not have a lot of selection as their lunch and dinner. If you go to this place be sure to arrive for dinner not the late later dinner. They are open 24hr. They have one of the best French Fries you will ever have. It is in a good portion so you might want to share. They have good fresh fruit plates which i order on regular visits. I would recomend this place since it looks nice and the quality of food is good too...
- Pros: Great Service and Food! One of the best French Fries
- Cons: Late dinner menu does not have lots of choices!
