The Scene – It's grand as in big, very big. Maybe too big. The overwhelming size and density of the MGM Grand guarantees a high energy level at all times, whether it's what you want or not. You'll find a massive and confusing casino, thousands of rooms, a large shopping and dining area, a performing-arts arena and a 33-acre theme park with rides. – – The Details – The expansive hotel features more than 5,000 rooms, with nine different kinds from which to choose. The Grand Tower rooms are accessorized with a custom black-and-white marble bathroom, hair dryer, safe and…

Loved the room and the overal design of the hotel

by kdoyon at Citysearch

Great experience at the MGM, started a little slow with 1/2 hour wait to check in but the room was great. A little far from everything but really cute and clean.

Great choices of restaurants, great people. Only thing is that it is not central on the strip.

"Lost & Found sec."ml. attendant will make you shocked & cry

by eternal pooja at Citysearch

I had visited MGM grand casino on 09/07/2011 evening and was enjoying in one of the roulette table. Before being to this one, we did visit other tables there and had been to the poker machine as well. However while playing on the roulette table we realized that our camera is not with us. As photography is not allowed in casino, so Ivery well remember that just before entering the casino there, we had taken one photo in the shopping area of MGM Grand, and then had placed it in its case.

After the loss, we went to Lost and Found Desk to enquire if they have received our camera, but they hadn't received it by that time.

We had the flight back to Chicago on same night, so after coming back, we called the Lost and Found Desk after 10-12 days to inquire about our camera, with a hope that during regular cleaning process, it may get recoevered somewhere from the casino hall.

When I called the Lost and Found helpdesk on 09/19/2011 at 11:00 a.m., a male attendant picked up the call.

I described my camera and he looked into his database for 10 mins by putting me on hold and then said he didn't find it.

This is fair enough for him to say this as per the results he got ....however after that he was not letting me speak/complete not even a single sentence of mine.

1) I was trying to interpret that I did say that camera was in a black case, but since the case was loose, so camera might have come out of it after falling on the ground. Before letting me complete he shouted at me saying...."madam I don't have your camera".

2) I then politely asked if you do have any other Sony camera at your Lost and Found Section, then it may happen that it is listed in your register with very less information, so it may not match with the details that I mentioned. Again without letting me complete, he shouted at me twice so harshly in such a way that it made me cry. I think it was literally very rude.

3) Again controlling my tears, I requested him not to be upset and co-operate in finding that camera (if present there), he re-iterated the same thing in same shouting tone saying "madam I don't have your camera"...."madam I don't have your camera". And then he cut the call by banging the receiver.

After the call, I was literally in shocked state and was crying for some time.

I was wondering what made him shout like this. I recalled what all things I told him. And I can honestly say that none of the things I said which would offend him to behave like this.

Generally and rather always I have found people attending at service desk as very courteous and polite.

I guess he has this habit of his own while responding to the people. It would be good if MGM grand hotel could monitor the way staff member at service disk like this respond to the customers. Because of a person like this particular male attandant having this type of rude and harsh behavior, it would be very bad for the name and fame of the hotel.

The Flamingo Brunch, Las Vegas Nevada

by Gridma at Citysearch

My family and I decided to eat at the Flamingo for Lunch at the popular buffet. It was such a disappointment. The scrambled eggs were watery, Pastries were old. The meat at the taco bar was old. This is a bad choice for food. I would have enjoyed Denny's for the money that was spent.

I hope you decide to spend your money somewhere else.

Very Disappointed!

by MrsQ at Citysearch

This was my first time traveling to Las Vegas, my trip was booked as a package deal with 6 other family members, who have been to Las Vegas over 8 times. This was their first stay at MGM. Upon arriving to the hotel Friday July 1st, the wait to check in was over 45 minutes, when we get to the desk we are told about a resort fee, which we knew nothing about. This fee was not advertised on our package, which they said included a newspaper sent to our room, which we never received. We had light bulbs out in our room, and it was an extremely dirty bathroom, which I had to purchase cleaning supplies to clean myself. We did tell the maid in the hall, she said she would take care of it which she never did. The rooms were very outdated, and the view was terrible. The whole 5 days we went to different casinos and hotels to enjoy great service as we felt we were treated negatively and I was very unhappy. It was to much of a hassel to try and switch hotels so we dealt w/it, spending all of our time else where. Upon checking out Wednesday July 6th, the bell hop who was going to hold our bags for us while we got a coffee before our shuttle arrived was very rude. My husband was wearing a big backpack and when he turned to move our luggage he accidently grazed the shoulder of the worker. Who then became very upset, rolling his eyes and shaking his head and became angry in tone. My husband did not even know he had bumped him, and was confused on his behavior I however was not. I spoke up and told him it was an accident and he should show some composure and refrain from making faces, or rolling his eyes untill we walked away. He of course apolgized and we grabbed our luggage and waited outside for our shuttle. This was not the trip I expected due to the service level in this hotel and the attitude of the workers. Maybe customer service training is needed in this area as obviously this hotel is quite busy, as we talked to other patrons all of the experiences I heard we very negative. I will travel back to Las Vegas however I will never stay at this hotel again. Hopefully this can be used as training to better serve your customers in the future.
