Talk about JUMBO shrimp!.
We had never heard of Gallagher's, but asked for a steak house while walking through New York, New York. We were surprised to find the very unique looking steakhouse. We were promptly seated and BOY were we thirsty. The waiter filled our water glasses about 1,000 times and never got tired of it. The staff was very friendly, but confused by our Texan behavior. Who knew ordering appetizers for your entree was strange!?
You must try the fried calamari, mushrooms and steak! The jumbo shrimp did more than shock us. We're big fans of shrimp and I was curious to see what they'd bring out for $13.99. Boy were we shocked, we received 4 shrimp... but one shrimp was the size of 6 regular shrimp... Was the $13.99 worth it? DEFINATELY!
This Las Vegas reproduction is almost like its original New York namesake..
In Short
Located in the Strip's Big Apple, this clone of the original establishment on 52nd Street in Manhattan is a passable re-creation of the macho, clubby original that practically invented the whole genre of urban steakhouses in 1927. Back then, they doubled as speakeasies, now they don't have to. Well-chosen, aged steaks and some excellent grilled seafood are still the order of the day. All are cooked with skill.
Nice Steak, Great Side order.
me and my co-worker went there once during our business trip in Vegas,
I was recommend by one of my old friend, we had one king cut prime rib , it was huge , (about 32 oz) and side order bake potato fully loaded, it was delicious, its good that we shared one, very good

Pricey but for on the strip no more than other hotels I would say. Absolutely fabulous steak! Most steak meals all you get is the $30+ steak and pay extra for any sides like a salad or potato. But I do re-emphasize, the steak is great. With the prices I would reserve this for a special occasion, and you need to have reservations or you will either wait hours or be turned away.
No need to dress up but some do. The atmosphere is great for a romantic night with your significant other (minus the tour through the casino and hotel to get there).
It's a steakhouse, alright.. A pleasant surprise, considering it's Las Vegas. We were seated promptly, with a reservation, and really enjoyed the loud, boisterous atmosphere. (This is not the place for an intimate dinner or quiet conversation). Our waiter was a kick and generally added to the fun. The steaks were great and the side-dishes decent. My only complaint: Does everything need to be "super sized?" Most of us were unable to finish even half of our steaks, they were so large, and it just felt plain wasteful - especially since our puppy couldn't make the trip to Vegas with us. :) It would have been nice to see some "petit cuts," for those who have a more reasonable appetite. In any event, highly recommended for a fun evening and a good steak.
Foodtastic. My wife and I enjoyed a terrific meal here. The steaks melted in your mouth. She had the surf and turf which she called the best she ever had, for myself i had the NY strip with a side, both of which where spot on. We were seated without having no reservations on a Friday night which impressed me very much.
great steak!. We dined here and we were shocked at how big the steaks were, especially the cowboy steak which took up the entire plate it was served on...delicious food...pricey though
Overpriced - poor value and poor quality. Steaks were overcooked, dry, and chewy - the dry aging does not add anything special and may add to the lack of juiciness. Steaks were cut at angles - cooked unevenly; seating area noisy (could not have even a loud discussion); 45 minutes to cook the house special steak (NY Strip) medium rare; was asked "how is everything" and when told the steaks were overcooked they just shrugged. There are many and much better steak places in Las Vegas at this price level and below. Exceptionally poor value at Gallagher's - I will not return.
Great food. My husband and I enjoyed a great dinner here. We were able to get a seat on a Friday night without a reservation. The service was good. I highly recommend the filet mignon (incredibly tender). I also suggest trying the bernaise sauce (one of the better bernaise sauces I have ever experienced).
Pricy is not better.
Went there two weeks ago with a friend. Had been scoping out the place all day. The cuts of beef are displayed in a case visible to all - so it had me drooling all day.
With no reservation we were very fortunate to get a table right away.
The wait staff was excellent but I didn't find the food worth the price. My dinner companion ordered a salad which was nothing more than an iceberg lettuce wedge and she promptly sent it back. I ordered a shrimp cocktail which was nothing more than 5 pieces of shrimp - it cost $13.95. My prime rib was a Queen cut and quite sizeable but didn't find it any better than what I have had at a buffet.
If you really want to spend over $100 for something you could do better at home be my guest.
