Under Quoted and Over Frustrated.
Our car was delivered to Pete Findlay Auto Shop on Fremont St. as this was one of the preferred repair facilities from our insurance company. After the car was inspected we were quoted at 29 days for the repair. Ok I get it there are pieces that have to be broken off and then new ones welded in place that is fine.
29 days is tomorrow (May 18th 2012) and I was told today that "IF" the bumper fits nicely it should be done by then.
Me: Wait what you didn't perform a fit test?
Findlay Rep: No that would cause double the amount of work.
Me: Isn't that standard practice to test fit new parts?
Findlay Rep: Not really.
Me: OK sounds odd but ok.
Later in the conversation I was told that the fenders and other parts fit in place as needed. Wait what?? You test fit the fenders but NOT the bumper? Isn't that doing double work??
I was also told that I would receive regular updates from the shop to let me know how things are going. Did I ever receive a call from them? NO. Only this morning when I called in and left a message did I receive a call to give me any status update. I had to do all the work when I was told that they would keep me informed.
I rate my experience as poor, Customer service was not on top of things and the information that I have received, seems to have been information to let me think that they cared. Apparently not. (If and when) Next time I am involved in an accident I will NOT be taking my car to them for repairs.
