Tips for Diversity Tattoo

February 11, 2013

Originally wanted to go to Downtown Tattoo on Carson. Was recommended that I go to Diversity instead. Should have went with my research. Charlie did my tattoo. He was rude and completely unfriendly. What matters the most is that he did a crap job. Fortunately, Steve at Downtown Tattoo not only gave me an incredible new tattoo (which was much more affordable than Diversity), but also completely fixed the tattoo that Charlie managed to screw up. It hurt like a sob to have it redone, but it was well worth it, because after a few months, I was embarassed for people to see the original tattoo. Downtown Tattoo is getting ALL of my business from now on!

Best artist in Vegas...Matt Smith. so we were way late on our 7 day trip to vegas dropping off our design ideas...we walked in and met Matt an artist from Diversity. He seemed really cool, listed to our ideas and actually offered to come in on his day off to give us our tattoos. SWEET! so we went the day before we left to see what he had drawn up..He basicly went into our heads and drew exactly what we wanted. i was getting a heart with a key hole, and i love the swirly effect...he had it right there in front of me..and my boyfriend as well. We were stoked and ready to get inked! He is professional, interesting, funny and a kick booty artist with a long history of loving what he does and not selling out. Which to me is exactly why we didnt go to hart and huntington to get our ink. We wanted art, and refused to pay for a name. But from now on, i will pay whatever i have to, to get Matt Smith to put ink on my skin. My little brother is a tatt artist in Ohio so i am somewhat familiar with the scene. Matt put what we wanted where we wanted and we went home happier than we ever expected.! I would recommend this shop to anyone going to Vegas. To others who say they were rude or bad...well you might want to think about YOUR attitude going into THEIR shop. Artists are just like everyone else and dont like jerks! But enough about that...10 stars in our book. And we have been there and done that on many occasions. Their whole staff chilled with us and took cig breaks and told us about themselves and to me that is what a shop is about...the inner circle of artists bound by one love..art! and if you go into a shop and just pick some random piece off of a wall, expect to get a crapy tattoo. If you go in with the love of art and ideas and express them to your artist, guaranteed, they are going to respect you. MATT SMITH....ask for him, he rawks!! THANKS MATT!! WE ARE AMAZED AND SOOO HAPPY!! CANT WAIT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!! All of you actually!! : )

Also charlie added a little star in an exsisting tat for free. (shout out to my MA) So far so good w/ the healing. By the way if you are olive complected orange wont work.

Great service - a little pricey but ........ I'm not sure about the last review - but I have gone to Diversity two times - the first time was at 2:00 in the morning and the dude cranked out an awesome tattoo with no notice... making it my own exactly what I wanted. The second time I gave Opi like 4 hours notice... the pricing was higher than expected but he did an exceptional job. Once again.. until like 3 in the morning. They pretty much shut down the shop for us on both occasions - I had like 10 people with us and 1/2 of them got tatted on pretty much no notice. So... these guys are awesome as far as I am concerned. When ur hammered... in Vegas... and want a tattoo - these guys just did it and were creative and still concerned that we would be happy. Both of my tats were intricate. The first one had a lighter hand then Opi - but so what.... no scarring.. little scabbing.... no whining... they were top notch. I think the guy that did my first tat was Charlie but I'm not sure - they were both old school style latina girls faces. Anyhow - I had a great experience and still need to go back and finish the one - but I have no complaints.. like I said.. a little pricey.. but come on.. 2 in the morning on the spot no notice and make it right... these guys are awesome!

Avoid going to Deversity Tatto Shop in LV - on the strip. Do not go to this shop, I went there a month ago and a guy called Charlie charged me 700 dollors to have my tatto done. The tatto looks rubbish, the lines are all wobbally, fadeing and he dug so far into my skin that when the tatto healed, it all droped of in a scab form and all the color came away with it. I now have to pay a further 200 dollers to get it fixed.

He over charged me and told me he was worth it cos he was great.

NEVER GO TO THIS SHOP - IT IS NEXT TO THE HOTEL "STRATOSPHERE"
