Editorial Review for Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapels – by Ryan Slattery

In Short
With 125,000 couples a year exchanging vows, Las Vegas is for lovers. Whether it's the first (or fourth) marriage, or if you want to renew vows, this chapel on the Strip can make it special. Walk (down the aisle) like an Egyptian, get married in Camelot, go gothic or, for a real shotgun wedding, have your nuptials performed by the Godfather during a Mafia-themed ceremony.

Based on the dates of the previous reviews, I wonder if this place has changed much in the past few years. This place is a dump but we really wanted a themed wedding and based on the other reviews, we booked the chapel. I was a little embarrassed so I warned our guests ahead of time by telling them "they are supposed to have the best themed weddings in town". So, when we arrived there were 2 weddings taking place right before ours. Our entire group of 50+ had to wait outside and there was no way to get inside without being seen. They really push the weddings too close together. It was really chaotic and confusing. The rehearsal was rushed and consisted of them pointing to the spots where we were to go. I wanted to have my whole wedding party at the front with me, but they only had room for four so some of the party didn't even get a chance to participate. It was nothing like I had envisioned. I was completely disappointed. The thing that really upset me the most was when we brought our own candles to light in honor of departed family members who could not be there. They made us pay $50 just to light them! It was somthing that was very personal and important to me, and that really ruined the sentiment. They were rude to our family members who wanted to take photos and snapped at them to sit down. I know they have a policy so they can sell you their own photos, but they could have been a little more polite about it. Started dismantling and setting up the next wedding while taking our photos-in front of all of the guests! Couldn't they at least play music during this time? I was mortified and angry. So much for the most important day of our lives. At least the reception - held at a different location - was a blast and made up for the ceremony. One other word of caution- the limo goes to and from your hotel only if it is on the strip. It will not turn left or right of Las Vegas blvd.

Pros: Themed weddings, cute ceremony

Cons: Rushed, rude, and greedy.
