In Short – Artwork at the entrance depicts the ebb and flow of the ocean tides and the blue-and-white color theme is carried throughout the inside of the 13,000 square-foot space. The buffet's seafood--such as freshwater prawns from Indonesia, Pacific salmon, Alaskan king crab, Canadian snow crab, shrimp from China and slipper tail lobster from Southeast Asia--are flown in daily and refreshed every 10 minutes at the food serving stations.

It was better a year ago...

by berniecase

I went to Vegas in April of 2006 and went here for the first time. I thought it was great and I was really looking forward to coming back. Oh, how things can change...

With a group of eight people, we all waited through the line for about 10 minutes, paid, and then waited for 20 minutes before a table was ready for us. For such a large group, this was unacceptable considering the cost of the buffet.

While the service we received at our table was good, the food just wasn't as good as I remembered. Just about the only decent thing I had was the prime rib. Wait a second, I thought this was a seafood buffet, right? One thing I like to remember is that good, fresh, fish shouldn't taste or smell "fishy". I'd already had flaky and delicious halibut earlier in the day and the halibut at Village was sub-par. I found that the deep fried seafood (of the breaded variety) was pretty good, but I find that harder to screw up.

My girlfriend and I had the option to join the group for a second trip to the buffet later in our trip. We didn't end up going. Her experience with the sushi there was not pleasant. I remember hearing her say she nearly got sick after tasting it. Not good, folks.

  • Pros: Quick with drink refills, desserts were alright
  • Cons: The fish tasted fishy

Overpriced Rubbery Seafood...Don't go!!!

by haleyjojo

We went to the Village buffet with high hopes since we are avid fans of the Rio Carnival World Buffet. As seafood lovers, we were excited about trying out this buffet at the same hotel. We were VERY disappointed. Don't be fooled by the idea that there will be an amazing assortment of fresh seafood here. The lobster was the most disgusting I've ever had, chewy, rubbery, bland, and mushy. Seafood should NOT taste like this. The crab legs were mediocre, same problem with the lobster - chewy, rubbery, and mushy. The Carnival World Buffet is a way better buffet for the price and selection. The crab legs there are 100 times better. DON'T GO!

  • Pros: short line
  • Cons: bad seafood, overpriced, rather pay more for better food

Delicious crab

by midnightmue

We heard great things about this place & thought we'd give it a try. Some of the food was OK, but there were crab claws that were the best ever! I ate a little of everything, then, when I found the crab claws, that's all i ate the rest of the night. It was like a crab feed at our table. Might not be as fancy as some other places, but it was clean & very enjoyable. Had no problems with the crowd, but we went on a Monday night.

  • Pros: Good selection, lots of seafood
  • Cons: Off the strip
