In Short – Tourists and families stroll under a 90-foot-high, four-block-long electronic canopy that flashes colorful graphics and animations. Dubbed Viva Vision, the world's largest LED screen is paired with a 550,000-watt sound system to show specially produced shows played every night at dusk. Among the other attractions are Vegas' most legendary hotels and casinos, including the Golden Nugget, Lady Luck and Binion's Horseshoe. The Neon Museum showcases historical neon signs that formerly graced Vegas hotels.

A Wonderful Free Experience

I watched 2 or 3 of the light shows and it is an amazing display. It makes a very pleasant evening - watch a couple of the musical shows, take in a nice buffet, watch another show or two. Much more relaxed than the busy strip atmosphere - more 'down-home'. Stroll through a couple of the stores and pick up some trinkets for those at home. Not a must-do on every trip but a must-do at least once!

..and a great place to get affordable water. It's definitely not for those looking for that ultra-lounge experience, as on the strip. pleanty of eatiereies, coolrelics of vegas' past, and the friggin Golden nugget is there for Pete's sake. Check it out, then continue down fremont to the Beauty Bar for a stiff drink. Hopefully there'll be a cool band out back.

I do. I was little when it disappeared. Fremont Street is neat because of the crafts and performers and shops and excitement. Here you'll find the old Vegas hotels and the Neon Museum. The parking is underground and validated. This IS a big city however. There are no entrance barriers so be prepared to deal with street people, beggars, and travelers of every description.
- Pros: metro promenade, grittiness, entertainment value

I thought is was great, can't wait to go back in November, 2003. It's a show you just have to see with your own eyes. Awesome! We will go back again, and again and again. Loved it.
- Pros: Great Show!, Good People Watching, Free
- Cons: beggers
Fremont Street is Great!

Imagine a shopping mall type of experience with just about every vice you can think of within a 5 block area. Gambling, drinking, eating, sex...its all right there. If you want a great time for less than half of what it costs on the strip, then pick a hotel downtown and live it up. There are great places to stay like The Four Queens, The Golden Nugget, The Plaza and The Las Vegas Club. Don't forget Binion's Horseshoe either. Oh, yeah, love those shrimp cocktails at the Golden Gate and the Girls of Glitter Gulch! Fremont Street is the place to be for the best time in Vegas
- Pros: Gambling, Drinking, Girls
- Cons: None
