A king for the price of a Queen

The room was large with a huge king size bed. Luckily we didn't face Freemont street which is loud even late, late at night as the ceiling show goes off every half hour. I found the gambling way more serious and hard core then down the strip and the dealers were often non-communicative. The waitstaff/bartenders were the best employees we encountered. I found that most of the other gamblers were solem and intense. Magnolias was inexpensive but the food wasn't that great compared to other cheap meals we had in Vegas. There were absolutely no room amenities. The desk and bell clerks were a bit off putting and appeared lazy and unconcerened. The casino is small and cramped like most of the Downtown casinos. It was nice not to have to pay as much as we did on the strip but it's definitely a more grim, seedier area of town.
- Pros: large bed, nice wait/bar staff, great rates
- Cons: bad food, unfriendly dealers, cramped/opressive
