What People Are Saying About Clark County Museum

In Short – Exhibits include a 1918 Union Pacific steam engine and caboose (many people are unaware that Las Vegas started out as a little railroad town), a resurrected ghost town, historic homes with recreated period furnishings, and a timeline for Clark County called the "Desert Frontier." The museum is a good stop for any Boulder City excursion, as it lies just off the Boulder Highway in Henderson.
Only $2.00 admission!

Open daily from 9am-4;30pm, this often unknown gem boasts a 30 acre site with historic homes you can visit and enjoy furnishings and costumes from 1912-1950. There is also a Ghost Town and Mining Trail to wander through, with Steam punk machinery left over from old mining opperations, a Train Depot, a caboose and other rail stock, a main exhibit hall that explains local pre-history through to early gambling and Las Vegas. They also have changing exhibits and a small gift shop.
For birders there is a nature trail, where you will probably see the resident roadrunner. Lots of cottontails, a few jackrabbits, and plenty of ground squirrels scamper around the trails and grounds. Seniors and children are only $1.00, and the only days they are closed are Thanksgiving , Christmas, and New Year's Day.
