We stayed for one night. We checked in early and then took a long hike up to Mary Jane Falls. We had a cabin all the way down the steps so it was more private than some of the others; be sure to look at the cabin map when choosing a cabin! We enjoyed taking a nice soak in the jacuzzi tub after our tiring hike. We then enjoyed a cocktail and appetizers (since they provide a fridge and microwave in the room) on the deck watching the hummingbirds fly all around us. Then it was off to dinner at the lodge which is a two minute walk. Dinner was delicious and fairly reasonable for the beautiful scenery we enjoyed! The only negative was a strange smell in the cabin, not really bad but just weird like maybe some type of cleaning supplies? We had a great day and evening and can't wait to go back!
We loved this place. We drove in at night so we really didn't see where we were on this mountain. When we awoke the next morning we were amazed at the view we saw. We stayed in cabin 16 "love birds cabin". When we arrived at our room the heater and the fireplace was already on for us. Our room stayed nice and cozy all night. Our room had a spacious jacuzzi tub. The restaurant next to the cabins had great food, service, atmosphere, and views.
We rent a small cottage here when we want to be alone and get away from it all. We bring a few snacks and drinks, but eat most of our meals at the lodge. It's a little bit expensive but worth it. The Winter quiet and Summer cool make this a favorite place for us to stay anytime of year. The office people are friendly and knowledgable. There is a well known hiking trail across the street for seasoned hikers with a killer view at the top. I like to walk the small neighborhood nearby and dream about living in the mountains again. Get away for a few days and come here, you will be glad you did :)
I had a cabin for the 14th of Jan. and I got a call from the cabins informing me that my pipes had froze :( I was sad but then they said that they had a cabin available for the next day so I took it and I was hoping that the pipes wouldn't freeze again. They were fine so I came up and they were so apologetic for the mishap the day before. They were so nice and the manager was amazing to us!!! My cabin was so adorable we were in cabin 25. I loved the cute little fireplace and the beautiful view from my balcony. It was so nice to get away from the busy college life back at home. I had the BEST time and I highly recommend it!!!! IT WAS SOOOO ROMANTICCC! <3
My husband and I stayed here in March for a romantic getaway. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. The cabins our situated in rows kind of shaping a triangle. There is only one cabin "the lovebird" cabin (#16) that sits by itself the furthest out on the mountain. This is the cabin that we were in. The private balcony is worth the money alone! The cabin is high up and the drop from the balcony is huge. You're just surrounded by trees, wildlife, and mountains. We went out on the balcony at night and the stars appear to be so close, it was amazing and very romantic. The night we were there, you couldn't hear anything. No cars, planes, or noise of any kind just complete silence.
There is a whirlpool tub in the room. We too found it difficult to get the tub filled with hot water. Lukewarm at best. Needless to say we didn't stay in very long.
Loved the fireplace at the end of the bed. It's right in the middle of the room. There's no TV reception but they did have DVD player in the room and free movies to choose from in the office.
There was a journal left in the room for guests to leave comments about their stay. It was fun reading all of them and adding our own story. I will say that most of the reviews in the journal were all positive. Very few negative experiences.
They also encourage you to carve your name(s) and date of your stay into the cabin outside on the balcony. That was also fun to see. There were literally hundreds of names out there.
The lodge restaurant was just okay. Kind of pricey. Nothing bad but nothing special either.
There were plenty of places to hike and sled for the kids. We also saw a horse drawn sleigh ride but didn't partake. It looked like fun though.
All in all this was my best night out of the seven nights we were in Vegas. Don't expect a 5 - star hotel here. It's a wood cabin. Very rustic and basic. The bed was comfortable and clean. The scenery, the balcony, and the fireplace were what we loved the most. I would definitely 100% recommend it for a romantic getaway!
The table was especially pretty and the fact that you had special things for the children to do was most helpful.
