So yes, you might feel a little bit silly drifting through the Venetian's tourist-choked Grand Canal in a gondola while a non-Italian gondolier dressed like an Italian gondolier sings enthusiastically overhead, but if you get into the spirit of things, it's actually really fun. Go early so you don't run into a line. Afterwards, get a cappuccino and plate of cookies at Tintoretto.
