Unimpressive and disappointing – Featured drinks of mojito and sangria could not have been worse. The food was unremarkable compared to the hype; salty and oily. And for such an acclaimed chef, all they can think of for desert was a brownie, custard, or some creme brulee which every other restuarant has. The service was blase' and could really care less if we enjoyed our dining experience. We actually had to ask to have our bill changed to the published happy hour specials on the food and only included well drinks...not so happy. We will not return.
NOT GOOD AT ALL – Bad service, poorly executed food. A couple things we ordered never arrived (probably not a bad thing). Unfortunately, a couple of things we didn't order did arrive. Plus the place was empty, so what gives?
Amazing!! – I took a leap of faith on this new restaurant and took my brother to RE tapas for his birthday. Wasn't really sure what to expect cause I have loved Firefly for so long. The food at RE was far superior, the parking was easier and far less packed inside. Service was amazing and so friendly. My only slight complaint was the mojitos and sangria weren't quite as good. Highly recommend the stuffed mushrooms, braised short ribs, baked brie, and stuffed dates. I loved the food so my I'm taking friends from out of town this week! MMMMM
Creative tapas menu – On our second visit we found the menu has been updated to include more classic tapas, but there is still a large section of non traditional tapas. We started off with orders of grilled hearts of romaine with basil balsamic vinaigrette, crumbled cabrales, and Serrano ham (3.5 Stars): dates stuffed with bleu cheese and slivered almonds, wrapped in bacon and roasted (5 Stars): and broiled goat cheese in tomato sauce (2 Stars). Our next order was Colorado lamb chops marinated and grilled, served with agria dulce (4 Stars) and crab paddies (3.5 Stars). We concluded the meal with a delicious creme brulee (5 Stars).
04/08This relatively new restaurant offers nontraditional tapas that we found to be superior to those served served elsewhere in Las Vegas. We tried the following: dates stuffed with blue cheese (fair), quesadilla margarita (very good), crab paddies (excellent), sauteed vegetables (good), seafood paella (very good) and a trio (traditional, ginger, passion fruit) of creme brulee (excellent). Our waitress was very friendly and efficient.
QUALITY, CREATIVITY, COMFORT....GREAT VALUE ALSO!! – Only open a couple of months and, already, drawing a very loyal client base....just wait until this brilliant young executive chef/owner perfects this amazing new restaurant/lounge. The extensive menu, over 50 tapas dishes, has a foundation in Spain, adds some Italian comfort, and finishes with Californian creativity.
How about Osso Bucco Ravioli, or Chorizo/Cheese/Potato Puffs, wonderful Shrimps, Smoked (on the way to the table) Duck, and many, many more. Beef, Pork, Fish, Chicken, and Veggies all used in a creative brilliant way. Sit at the stylish bar, tables inside or on the patio or in front of the open, Californian kitchen...how about relaxing with great mojitos or sangria and wonderful food on luxurious leather loveseats? The goal is to have 25-30 dishes that are always on the menu and another 25-30 dishes that will constantly changed based upon the season, market availability, and the creativity of this brilliant, passionate chef. The price point is amazing....the most expensive tapas dish is about $10; the wine list reflects the quality of the food and is also priced very affordable. This is one wonderful dining and relaxing experience you will have in Las Vegas/Henderson where you will have no concern, whatsoever, about the check....order 5, 10 dishes and share....add the wine....you will be hard-pressed to spend that $100 bill in your pocket!!! This restaurant/lounge is going to become very hot....if you're a local, get them to know you now!!! If you're a tourist.....get away from the Strip and those prices and experience the quality that a brilliant new chef is turning out.
