Love the tacos.
by Mukas
Me and my wife love mexican food so we tried Baja Miguel's. The food is really tasty and you get gucamole with your chips and salsa. How many places do that? Not many. Try the tacos, they are very good. Homemade taco shells and there large and overflowing with the good stuff. Chicken flautas are good also. They have a great lunch special where you get two items and a margarita for $8.99!
- Pros: Good Food
- Cons: None
Never again
by mooyai
We were in Vegas for BMGs at the Venetian and decided to try one of the restaurant at South Point. We love Mexican food so we decided to try Baja Miguel's. I was impressed with the tequila bar outside the restaurant and the restaurant's decor. It was very well decorated and beautiful then things started to go awry. Again we were impressed with the dips, there were 3 dips in these cute containers, unfortunately that's where all the cuteness stop. The warm chips in the basket were hot but it was mostly broken in a little pieces. My husband enjoyed the bean dip with what whole chips he can find. Then came the food, I had order Arroz con Pollo and my husband ordered a combination plate. My Arroz con Pollo looking like no other Arroz con Pollo I have tasted or seen before. It was a piece of grill chicken breast on top of a plate of soupy spanish rice. The rice tasted like it was cooked in canned tomato soup. I tried to doctor it with salsa and sliced jalopeno but to no avail. My husband plate had 3 kinds of meat on his plate and they are ranging from tough and dry to tasteless. There was a little bowl of bubbly cheeses on his plate, it was too hot to eat but by the time it has cool off, it has morphed into a groopy mess. We were very hungry when we walked in so they had us at hungry, as long as it was decent we would have eaten it. As it was, I took couple of bites out of mine and my husband did the best he could with his plate. We paid the tab and left. My plate went back nearly full and nobody said anything nor my ice tea glass was refill. Never again. Beautiful place, too bad the kitchen can't muster up food to match it.
- Pros: Great ambience, cool tequila bar, good peach margarita
- Cons: Tasteless food, not enough care spending in preparing food, need new recipe
Authentic Mexican Restaurant Experience
by Campanita
If you want to know what the experience is like going to one of the good dining places in one of the nice resort cities in Mexico, but can't afford it, THIS is what it's like. The menu isn't just the "same-old thing, taco's, burrito's, etc." They have many different and new type of items in the appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The servers and the most helpful and friendliest we've ever experienced, and we go out A LOT! The tequila bar just outside the doors is the topper for the finest Mexican dining experience in Las Vegas! All in all, a very deserving 5 stars!
