In Short – This two level, 15,000 square feet restaurant and ultra lounge is the complete package. It sits in the middle of the Strip staring at the famed Bellagio fountains. So sit back with a tropical smoothie and enjoy the show. As in all their other worldwide locations, the dining room boasts heavy nods to the South Pacific, including bamboo walls and tall wooden tikis. On the menu: Asian and island-inspired dishes such as Hawaiian poke with ahi and hamachi served with taro chips, traditional bongo bongo soup and BBQ Kobe short ribs with nashi pear salad.
What a BAD restaurant!

DISAPPOINTING IS NOT A STRONG ENOUGH ADJECTIVE FOR OUR EXPERIENCE. I DO NOT KNOW HOW THIS TERRIBLE RESTAURANT CAN STAY OPEN. DO THE OWNERS OF PLANET HOLLYWOOD KNOW HOW AWFUL TRADER VICS IS??? NOTHING WAS GOOD - FOOD, WATERED DOWN "TROPICAL" DRINKS, STUPID, POORLY TRAINED STAFF, AND THE OVERPRICED AND OVERCOOKED FOOD. LAS VEGAS PROBABLY HAS A FEW THOUSAND RESTAURNTS BETTER THAN THIS. PREDICTION: OUT OF BUSINESS IN FOUR MONTHS.
- Pros: WE SURVIVED!
- Cons: BAD FOOD, DRINKS, SERVICE....OVERPRICED
we hated it!!!

My dad said that Trader Vics was one of his faves in California in the seventies, so we decided to eat here. To cut this short, it was horrible. Bad food, watered down drinks, a staff that is lackadaisical and untrained, and very expensive. There was no Hawaiian or tropical atmosphere at all. ANY restaurant would have been better.
- Pros: You're kidding!
- Cons: Bad food, bad drinks, staff untrained and slackers, overpriced.
So Bad it was seriously funny!

OMG, this place hits on all the BAD cylindars... If being bad was an art form, this would be a Monet or Picasso! The place has this great, Home Run of a patio location, so you have to think the food, drinks and service will be equally good, right? Wrong. All are a "Home Run of Badness" - if that's even a word, and if it's not a word, it fits this location perfectly. Trader Vics used to be known for cool drinks, so I thought there would be this cool vibe with great drinks by people who understood what a great drink is... not so much.
Since the lowest Star Rating you may give is a 1 Star, I'll sleep well by letting them have this since their patio location is great. Oh, and the food... I'd rather starve on an Island and resort to canibalism - at least you'd know what to expect. Staff - weak, at best. You have to wonder if there are hidden cameras to catch your reaction on tape to how bad it is.
- Pros: The patio is a good location with cool view
- Cons: Everything else - AND it's expensive!
The Details on Trader Vic's
What to Drink:
The Scorpion and Navy Grog are just two of the more than 40 specialty drinks. Trader Vic himself invented the mai tai back in 1944, so you might want to try one of those.
Know Before You Go:
While the restaurant and patio are open daily, the ultra lounge is closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Extras:
Check out their onsite retail shop that sells the typical T-shirts, but also recipe books, cool Tahitian drinking glasses and their line of gourmet sauces.
Where to Sit:
The patio holds 200 guests. It's where singles mingle with fruity cocktails and watch the Bellagio fountains dance.
