I no longer trust the service department generally regarding competance and effectiveness. Like an earlier post from another customer, I was one who researched a Technical Service Bulltein ("TSB") about my brake rotors needing resurfaced. The service advisor told me that all Honda's with exception of the '97 Accord do not require an on-car brake lathe. The fact is according to their own bulletin ALL models are to be treated with the on-car brake disc resurfacing because it deals with the fundamental issue of hub runout (beneath the disc is the hub which can at times develop an uneven surface and only resurfacing the disc while connected to the hub will compensate for and thus elimate conditions such as pulsation do to an uneven surface), I don't necessarily mind educating a service advisor, but when they counter with untrained knowledge and perform service reluctantly, it doesn't instill confidence. I questioned the same advisor about another repair procedure detailed in a TSB and was told, 'frankly, our guys don't do that kind of thing.' It was a steering pull that I corrected myself by following the TSB - a simple fix involving factory adjustment bolts sold at their parts counter. I don't understand how they are staying in business.

Fraud Alert - Service Department.
Caught them red handed in a scheme involving not performing services paid for during a very routine type of servicing. 100% sure they ripped me off last visit, 99% sure I was ripped off on previous visits going back more than a year.
IMO, it is crystal clear the problem is not, repeat not, a 1-time incident involving a rouge, slack, or incompetent employee. What I discovered is very obviously a shop policy involving skimming of services in order to increase profit. The evidence I have puzzled together provides me with a very clear picture of what's going on.
My advice to anyone using this establishment is to:
1. Know what parts are on you vehicle BEFORE you take it in, as well as the condition they are in i.e. note any identifiable marks, dents, dirt (is part dirty looking), or even serial #s on the part(s). Better yet, where possible put your own personal identifer on them.
2. Go back behind them and VERIFY for yourself the work you were billed for actually took place.
What I found was unfortunately not that big of a shock given the auto repair scams prevalent in Las Vegas. However, I was very disappointed in Findlay, especially considering that they are brazen enough to defraud customers on a basic service that is easy to tell if one simply goes back behind them and checks (which most folks don't do and thus is how they perpetrate the scheme).
If they're willing to rip people off on the easy stuff, there's absolutely no way I'd trust them to actually do major internal engine repair procedures such as a preventative replacement of a timing belt, water pump, etc. as procedures like that are, at least for 99.9% of customers, impossible for you to inspect for yourself.
Shame on you Findlay, shame on you!
Stellar customer service, a rare find!.
I dread going to car dealerships, not unlike many other people. This includes going in for any tune-ups and maintenance.
For the first time, I actually look forward to bringing my car in! The customer service here is above and beyond what I would expect. They are friendly, prompt, knowledgeable and most importantly, honest. They are appreciative for your business, and it shows not only when you're there but even after you leave. I've received thank you letters from them for bringing my car here! So many places now don't even give you a simple 'hello, thank you, good bye' these days.
They have a shuttle service once you drop your car off, but I have yet to use it since I don't mind hanging around the dealership. They have a nice waiting area, and it never takes them as long as they estimate.
From start to finish, I finally have a place where I can bring my car and not get fits of anxiety. Now I bring not only my Honda here but also my Nissan in for oil changes. The price is EXTREMELY fair, quite a bit lower actually than your "quickie" places, and you get the great customer service (and a free car wash!). In addition, they have the "get three oil changes, get the fourth free" stamp card., as well as coupons on their website.
I have brought my Honda in for two other issues, both of which were easily fixed under my warranty, no questions and no hassles.
I highly recommend this place for anyone that owns a Honda, and even if you don't, consider getting an oil change here! One of the reasons why I went to this location initially is because it was five minutes away. I have since moved about 30 minutes away and still continue bringing my car here and will do so as long as I live in Vegas.
