ONLY vet that would even look at our exotic animals (2). I was told by another vet who couldn't see us to give them a try. We just showed up and they took us right away. As a first time customer without an appointment, I was afraid to look at the bill. I pulled out my credit card, and to my surprise I had enough in my wallet to pay for it in full. Is it in the best part of town...no. Do they have a decked out waiting room...no, but the staff is real nice and very concerned about the animals (which is what I care about). I have my own primary doctor for me that I like :) Shannon gave us the best advice and told us what we needed to get them back on track. I have had a great experience; it was nice not to be taken advantage when it came to what people call "exotic animals".
Very Happy! – I brought in 4 cats with that had upper respiratory infections. Dr. Stoeklin gave then an antibiotic shot and some medicine with instructions to administer the drops twice a day. All of the cats were due for boosters on their vaccines but Dr Stoeklin decided to hold off on those until the cats were healthy again. All of my cats have recovered nicely. This place is definitely not out to take your money. They offer half price vaccines on certain days of the week and they spay and neuter pets for a very low price. His staff is also thoughtful and helpful. There is another vet about 3 blocks from my house but I gladly make the 20 mile drive to North Las Vegas when my cats need to see a doctor.
Very disappointed – We brought our cat in after she had an accident in the yard, and her right front leg and paw were paralyzed. The hospital kept her over night for observation and blood tests. The next morning, USD 250,-- later, we could take her home, with the diagnosis of a "liver problem" (she is not even 2 years young and has never shown any signs of any disease) and a corticosteroid. (not a medicine to treat a liver problem!) No x-ray had been taken. When asked, why there were blood tests and no x-ray taken, the staff member told us, that this is "procedure".
After a week of no improvement we took her back. Same medication, still no x-ray.
During the next few days the paralyzed leg died off completely.
Now Dr. Soecklin wants to amputate or put her down.
The diagnosis now is, that "something injured the leg" !
Please, don't take your pet to this place. All they care about is money. What goes further than the regular shots, is too much to care for.
North Las Vegas Animal Hospital Is Top Notch!! – I live a long distance from this hospital I call Dr Stoecklin and told him about my animals problem and he said I really don't like treating animals over the phone and I need to see her. We decided to take her in and glad we did there was nothing wrong with her! I love this doctor, he was very caring listened to what I said and tried to answer all my questions. The staff was great, they were very friendly and looked very professional, this is the second time I have been here and I would recommend Dr Stoecklin!!!
forget the negitive stuff – i couldent belive the neg reviews,i have used this vet for years,so has my daughter.the prices are the best i have found very fair.dr.Soecklin has always been very professional as has been his front office people.do yourself a favor go and see for yourself i think you will agree.thanks for reading my review.
WORST STAFF, RUDE INCONCIDERATE TWO TIMING THIEVES – if i could give this place negative stars I WOULD absolute WORST "vet" ever. got so bad i had to call NLVPD to get my dog back. staff dress like a bunch of punk A$$ kids. DUSTY the "asst. manager" so she calls herself is a rude, inconciderate VICIOUS human being. place is dirty, old and REAKS of pinesol. i should have trusted my gut and ran. told me they HAD to give my dog a LYME vaccine (even though it is not required by law. did not tell me this would be given because their clinic (and only their clinic) requires it, oh and did i mention this stupid NOT REQUIRED BY LAW shot is 25 BUCKS??!! and that there was more then 1 person in the office getting their pet that had the problem with the staff and the non-disclosure of info? one lady said she gave them her pets shot record and the idiots STILL gave her dog 3 shots he didnt need. NEVER EVER EVER FOR THE LOVE OF ALL PETS TAKE YOUR ANIMAL TO THIS PLACE.
I AM FILING FORMAL COMPLAINTS WITH EVERY PLACE THAT WILL LISTEN. HOPEFULLY I CAN GET THIS HELL HOLE SHUT DOWN
Friendly service, best Kennel operation around! – My wife has been taking all of her cats to Dr. Stoecklin at the North Las Vegas Animal Hospital for about 18 years and can't say enough good things about him. For the past 13 years we've been married, I've been taking our dogs there as well. It is always quick and easy to get in to see the doctor. Our experience has always been professional, friendly, and cordial. Yes, the staff is often teenagers, but they're all animal lovers and do show compassion to the animals. Their boarding/kennel operation is fantastic! It's VERY inexpensive, and you don't HAVE to make an appointment (though it's preferred). I've had emergencies come up, or simply on a whim the wife and I decide to go out of town for the weekend and they are ALWAYS more than accomodating, including a free bath on the last day of the pet's stay! My only disappointment is that they used to exercise the animals several times a day in the empty lot (desert) next to the hospital, but it's now been covered up with a shopping mall. We've moved to the far northwest part of Las Vegas, but will still continue to use Dr. Stoecklin and company due to their tremendous service. Walt D in LV
Worst animal hospital in Vegas – This place is horrible. It's filthy, foul smelling, and extremely unprofessional. The staff are mostly sloppily dressed teenagers and foul-mouthed receptionists (I spoke to one on the phone, and because she was having computer difficulties swore over the phone, "I can't believe this G.D. thing, it's pi$$ing me off!"
The doctor was cold, rough with our puppy, and obviously did not consult the chart before coming in the room. My five-year-old daughter was in the room, scared about her puppies welfare, and was very upset about the way he treated her. He quickly left the room, mumbling about when we should return and was obviously annoyed when we asked him to repeat his directions. Even worse, was when we asked him "time consuming" questions about how our puppy got worms, if she'd be ok, etc. (important questions, to us). He was clearly aggravated with our questions and just plain cold to us.
All-in-all, bad,BAD place. Pet owners love their pets. Animal hospitals should be places where pets and their owners are treated with love and respect.
You won't find it at North Las Vegas Animal Hospital.
Worst Veterinary Clinic – The vet at this clinic showed lack of compassion not only for ourselves but for the suffering of our pet. We took our beloved pet on July 23, 2007 to get spayed and she died on July 25, 2007. We took Roxie back in on the afternoon before she passed and told the vet that there was something wrong with her. He gave her fluid and an antibiotic shot and was sent home. We got her home at around 7pm and she died in two hours. How a vet could not see that this animal was dying or if he did know; to be so callous as to send it home with the owners without telling them this was going to happen is inconceivable! This is a devastating experience for the whole family especially to my 9 year old daughter who has been so attached to Roxie and was the first to find her "gone". I am taking further steps so that no other pet lovers would experience what we went through. The pain of losing a loved one is absolutely unexplainable. Please, please, please... take your pets to a reputable clinic. I wish I could turn back time.
Best helpfull friendly service, quite busy Saturday mornings – I am more than pleased with the North Las Vegas Animal Hospital. I have taken Buddy there since he was about 10 months old. He was neutered and given all his shots. The staff is very friendly and helpful also. You get reminders when shots are due. Buddy has gone to this vet for almost 2 years now. Buddy is a very large dog. I take him to get bathed and brushed and the fee is only $9. I am boarding him there now. I asked if I could see where Buddy was going to be and they took me right back there. It was 8AM and everything was clean.
They have convenient hours and are even open on Sunday morning. They offer 1/2 price shots on Saturday. Seniors benefit too with the Senior Discount. Give them a try.
