Diamond in the rough. I know, I know, it is not on the strip. It is 2 entire miles from Mandalay Bay or the start of the action and you will not care. Tahiti Village is an island oasis in a concrete city. It is a place of refuge from the crowded casinos. The rooms are very nice, updated kitchen and bathroom was a great surprise. The staff was exceptionally nice. There is a small store on site that stocks everything you will need for the kitchen. What they do not have, Whole Foods a mile away will take care of the rest. A short cab ride to the strip will cost you $15 without tip, but they run a free shuttle bus every 30 minutes. Do not stay anywhere else. It is a great deal for $150 a night
