What People Are Saying About Agave Restaurant
Disappointed
by evespeak
I have always want to try Agave. It was my Birthday and said "Let's give it a try". It is beautiful on the outside, but we were seated on the main floor, right next to the bar, with T.V.'s and all. I noticed how warm it was, as they had opened the outside doors, and it got warmer by the minute. (This was late August). Hubby ordered the Carnitas. He said it was like a limp over-boiled roast. (He likes it a bit crispy.) I got the crab stacked tostada thing. It was ok. We each got margaritas, and they were good. I felt rushed to leave with the heat and there was no acknowledgement of my birthday, which was odd. Overall, the food is too gourmet. I like rustic mexican food. The price was very expensive for the portions of food. We are not cheapos either. It was very disappointing. Will not be going back.
- Pros: Pretty outside
- Cons: expensive, sports bar atmosphere
Refreshing to finally find great Mexican food
by tranman
I visted this restaurant on a recent trip to Las Vegas while staying with some friends. As a self described "know it all" on great Mexican food, Agave is one of my all time favorites. First, the margaritas are amazing. You can tell by the level of various tequilas they offer and knowledge of the staff that this place knows how to make a perfect margarita. I strongly recommend the mango margarita, which was perfect in the Vegas heat. The food was described to me as contemporary Mexican and was well thought out. I loved the rock shrimp tacos and my entire party had nothing but good things to say about their dishes. There was also a great live Latin rock band that apparently plays every Saturday night. Great live music and they rocked. Overall, Agave will be my new place to go to in Las Vegas!!!
- Pros: Great margaritas and perfect for groups
- Cons: Had to wait a few mins for a free table
