Great food, great service. I am confused at the bad reviews I've read here about Mother's- I have never had anything but great service at this place, and I'm not Korean! (In my previous experience with Korean restaurants, they tend to treat their Korean customers a little differently. I get it, of course, and it doesn't bother me- it's just something I've noticed). And the food is good to boot. The bad reviews were all written over a year ago, though, so maybe the management changed or something? I don't know. But I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone- the food is delicious, and the service- especially from one particular waiter- has thus far been great. No complaints here!
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
After eating our meal here, the manager, who knew that we had brought our own bottle of liquor, charged us a $30 corkage fee which we were not informed of before opening the bottle. We were not informed of the charge throughout our entire meal, but were informed right before being handed the bill. When we asked to speak to the manager, she proceeded to tell us that it was our fault and that we had no common sense. What ever happened to the CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!! While we had no problem paying the charge, we would have rather bought the bottle from them. They claim to have a liquor license, which i doubt they do. More over, the manager continued to argue with us and tell us that we were bad and with NO COMMON SENSE!
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
Expensive, horrible service, Never again. I brought my girlfreind that is asian here and we get seated after everyone else at least 20 minutes of waiting but there was no line. The waiter never paid attention to us, I had to raise my hand everytime I needed anything. My girlfreind's water was never filled it was empty for at least 10 minutes. The Korean speaking people in the tables around us got better attention from our waiter than we did.The food was decent but I could of paid the same amount of money on the strip and gotten better service and better food. My girlfreind wanted to leave as soon as possible.I never felt so uncomfortable at a restaurant and I felt embarrassed I brought my girlfreind here. I just moved here to Vegas a year ago and I was told to go to the Tofu Hut for korean food earlier that day but I wanted my girlfreind to have a fun time at the Mother's Korean Grill cooking on the grill and for us to have a special time together. I should of listened to them.I wouldn't recommend it for anyone. Its a tourist trap, u go once and u never want to go back.
Great dining experience!.
I don't know what the other people who reviewed Mother's are doing to have such a bad time - Were you tired and cranky already?? Are you just naturally prone to gripe and complain??
We wandered in on a SATURDAY afternoon (right before Chinese New Year celebration no less). We were IMMEDIATELY seated by a very friendly hostess. She was helpful with our meal selections and prompt with the sides and drinks.....and my iced tea glass never reached bottom without an offer to refill. Perhaps the best customer service I have had in ages!! I tipped 25% for probably the first time in my entire life!!
Our food was quick, delicious and plentiful. The sides were varied and each one AMAZING.....especially the sweet dish which we think might have been taro? My hubby (who has traveled in many Asian countries)loved the kimchee side dish and in his spicy tofu entree.
For me, it was a dining experience as I had never eaten Korean food before. We plan to return on our next trip to Las Vegas and do the table grill meal.....I can hardly wait!!
If u want to gamble your money away, go here, u will definetly lose, no problem.. We went into Korean Grill because their new signs of 24 hours made it really appealing especially whe me and my hubby went. We have different schedules. I love asian food in the China Town area and looked at the menu from outside, as it was posted right before u get in. It looked pricey and we thought, the price would speak for itself, especially in China Town! It's only a Thursday and once we walked in, we saw plenty of empty seats and stood around waiting for a waiter or hostess to come in. We are greeted by a waiter and he tells us, we have to clean a table for you, we'll seat u after that. Me and my husband sit down at the chairs available. After about 20 minutes we have encountered about 6 people ( 3 couples that have been seated before us) that spoke Korean fluently in which we don't, they were seated in areas that we saw were empty before we got there. It was awfully strange, at first we thought it might of been the fact that we wanted a grill but as the night passed we saw how they were using a grill the same as we were. Clearly showing us how stereotyped this restaurant was! That wasnt' the worst, our waiter showed us horrible customer service, we had to cook our own food over the grill that is provided in the restaurant but I had to turn over the food myself and cook it myself in which it would be burned if it was too late. Fact is, most of my food was almost burnt. It was a horrible experience for the price of a fancy restaurant anywhere on the strip! It was off the strip and I expected the customer service that I had with all the other restaurants in the surrounding area. Mother's Korean Grill was far from the customer service anywhere around them, they fail miserably. I can truly tell you that I will never go there ever again! Why would I throw away my time and money where I feel extremely uncomfortable being who I am, eating the food I'm eating because it will be burnt, or seeing others being treated like kings around me and feeling bad. This is it.
Decent food, HORRIBLE service. I would NOT recommend going to this restaurant if your party is not accompanied by a MALE! My 2 sisters and I were having a girls' night out and decided to go to this Korean cuisine, which I previously been to with my guy friend. I definitely see an enormous difference in service. With the girls, we were first ignored for 15-20 mins and then received another 15-20 mins delayed service after they REFUSED to let us use the "cook-it-yourself" traditional Korean grill! After the meal, I requested the iced ginseng tea. Once again, we're denied service. As terrible as the service seemed, the funny thing is, the server didn't have problems "stirring" food for my guy friend, on HIS PLATE (Ignored mine, of course) or giving tables that HAVE a MALE ginseng teas or use the grill for that matter. In all fairness, the food was alright and from what I observed the other tables (with a male) appeared to have an authentic dining experience. Personally, i won't visit there again consider there are so many decent korean cuisines with gender-unbiased service.
