I absolutely love Rising Sun! My experience there gets better everytime. The kitchen food is so tasteful and fresh. The sushi rolls are to die for! You must try their kobe beef specials, toro, and jalepeno white tuna!! I love 'em all! I always go to rising sun when I get the chance. The sushi chefs are awesome, Tony and Jason, they always make you feel like you're family. I've been to many sushi restaurants before, I'll tell ya, there is no other place like this. I don't even waste my time any where else now. Great Sushi, great price and always great service. 5 stars for me! I will definitely be back soon!!
- Pros: great food and quality of their fish
- Cons: none
Rising Sun Sushi

I've been to this restaurant at least a dozen times either dining in, to go, or at the sushi bar. The salmon is always, always great whether served as sashimi or teriyaki. The prices are pretty reasonable.
Unfortunately, that's where the good reviews end.
On my future visits to this restaurant I'm going to stick with fully cooked dishes. On my last visit the female sushi chef who prepared our dishes had her hair down. Although she did look lovely she had the habit of pushing her stray hairs behind her ears and then start preparing our rolls, sashimi and nigiri. She did not wash her hands after touching her hair and ear and she did this numerous times. Between orders she helped carry a hose freshly used in the display fish tank near the front of the restaurant. She then proceeded to prepare more sushi rolls without washing her hands. These actions make diners question the cleanliness of this restaurant or at the very least this sushi maker.
- Pros: Excellent salmon, spicy teriyaki, can't beat the happy hour prices, good for group outing
- Cons: Tuna often has a slightly ammonia scent & lacks firmness indicating lack of freshness.
We won't go anywhere else!

I work at one of the top restaurants on the strip, so I am familiar with quality of food and service. Rising Sun is where I come when I want both. All the sushi chefs are very friendly and conversational. I just go and sit at the bar and let them prepare whatever they want for me. They make all the sauces from scratch and they are excellent! Also, they are one of the few places that serve REAL wasabi on one of the sashimi dishes. Tony knows how to prepare quality sushi and his prices are great for the high quality food you are served. I now live on the East side, but wont go anywhere else. I drive all the way to Rising Sun whenever I crave sushi. They also have a great sake list and a great happy hour... what more do you need? Give it a shot!
- Pros: Fresh food, creative chefs, great sake, DD Roll is my fave!
- Cons: Wish it was in my back yard! :)
