GREAT Sushi ever!!. I absolutely love Rising Sun! My experience there gets better everytime. The kitchen food is so tasteful and fresh. The sushi rolls are to die for! You must try their kobe beef specials, toro, and jalepeno white tuna!! I love 'em all! I always go to rising sun when I get the chance. The sushi chefs are awesome, Tony and Jason, they always make you feel like you're family. I've been to many sushi restaurants before, I'll tell ya, there is no other place like this. I don't even waste my time any where else now. Great Sushi, great price and always great service. 5 stars for me! I will definitely be back soon!!
Rising Sun Sushi.
I've been to this restaurant at least a dozen times either dining in, to go, or at the sushi bar. The salmon is always, always great whether served as sashimi or teriyaki. The prices are pretty reasonable.
Unfortunately, that's where the good reviews end.
On my future visits to this restaurant I'm going to stick with fully cooked dishes. On my last visit the female sushi chef who prepared our dishes had her hair down. Although she did look lovely she had the habit of pushing her stray hairs behind her ears and then start preparing our rolls, sashimi and nigiri. She did not wash her hands after touching her hair and ear and she did this numerous times. Between orders she helped carry a hose freshly used in the display fish tank near the front of the restaurant. She then proceeded to prepare more sushi rolls without washing her hands. These actions make diners question the cleanliness of this restaurant or at the very least this sushi maker.
We won't go anywhere else!. I work at one of the top restaurants on the strip, so I am familiar with quality of food and service. Rising Sun is where I come when I want both. All the sushi chefs are very friendly and conversational. I just go and sit at the bar and let them prepare whatever they want for me. They make all the sauces from scratch and they are excellent! Also, they are one of the few places that serve REAL wasabi on one of the sashimi dishes. Tony knows how to prepare quality sushi and his prices are great for the high quality food you are served. I now live on the East side, but wont go anywhere else. I drive all the way to Rising Sun whenever I crave sushi. They also have a great sake list and a great happy hour... what more do you need? Give it a shot!
Best Sushi in Town. I often eat at Rising Sun because I know I can count on having great sushi. I ususally sit at the sushi bar. Everyone making the sushi is always VERY friendly. The sushi is always fresh and delicious. They have happy hour specials too, but I can never make it there in time. If you are looking for a place that has EXCELLENT sushi, you need to come to Rising Sun. You will not be disappointed.
Best Sushi Chef in Las Vegas.
Jason is the BEST! He is the kind of chef that you can tell what kind of things you like, and he will create the perfect meal. I have been going to Rising Sun Sushi for almost 2 years now. All of my frends and family have joined me for at least one meal with him. After that, they go without me! He has even remade some of my favorites, and made them better. He makes the sauces specially for me. I cannot handle a lot of spice. He makes the most amazing Screaming O in the world! The spice level is just perfect.
I drive halfway across town just to eat at his restaurant and I have an all you can eat sushi place just 2 blocks away! The store manager is Tony and he is a great guy. When you see him, tell him Denise said hi and where are my hooks!? He'll know what you are talking about.
The staff is great and all very friendly. Don't forget to have desert, the Dream Bomba is to die for! And don't forget the Just Kdding roll, Lisa Lisa roll, and Japanese Lasagna. The fish are so fresh, the ahi is the deepest red imaginable and the salmon is the perfect shade of orange!
You have to meet Jason. Let him make you just one roll, and you will worship him forever! Just like I do!!!
Jason is the best!. This is one of my favorite places to get sushi. Jason has great skill and an even better personality! They recently started a happy hour where you get 2 of the same roll for the price of 1 from 3pm - 6pm. Most of the rolls on the main menu are available for happy hour specials. The rolls are fresh, many unique, and many are LARGE. Rising Sun has the BEST fried rolls I've found anywhere in Las Vegas. You don't pay extra for cucumber salad and edamame, either! I have never had a bad experience here and I've been going since June 2006. Several times we've gone there have been other guests at the sushi bar that sing his praises too. Go see for yourself!
